I've lived in and around St. Louis my entire life. I've never been to the arch, but a lot of people say that.

However, this has been here 15 years, and I've never even heard of it. I'd never seen it, I'd never heard someone mention it. I've been driving through downtown St. Louis 4-5 days a week since last August, and I never saw it until just the other day.

Now I've seen it twice. It was quite the shock, the first time, driving down the highway, seeing the familiar skyline, the arch, then this great jet of water as tall as a skyscraper. Apparently it shoots off 4 times a day for a few minutes, from March til November, and its as high as the Gateway Arch. It's called the Gateway Geyser, and it's been installed and running since 1995.

I brought it up in an English class today, and no one had heard of it or seen it. My family had never heard of it or seen it. I find it fairly bizarre.

I thought your link would be to the Arch.

I tell Flea "The only thing St. Louis has going for it is a big arch and you can see that from our side of the river."

Hell, *I've* seen the geyser and I've been through St. Louis exactly once in my life, on the way to Colorado.

Going up in the Arch is kind of cool, and kind of lame. You get to look out over STL. There is a museum that has info on how it was built and junk.

Last time I went it was like $2 to go up. So if you ever have a free day, you might want to check it out.

I've seen the geyser once, was a sock as well.

Cool place. Do pay to go into the aquarium room.
I suggest taking a helmet too, and wear good rubber shoes. Them slides can be pretty slick and there really isn't anything at the bottom to stop you XD
Sock Skate Park and the top floor were still being worked on the last time I went (about 2 years now).
