Cold and Dark can be very condusive to cooking/eating a lot of "comfort food". Comfort food can tend to wind up as mushy masses of carby/poroteiny goodness. As opposed to fresh, crisp, raw or aldente masses of high micronutrient high variety vegetably/fruity goodness.
