It's Friday, friends!

What's on tap? The weather is going to be hot here so we'll be mostly hanging by the kiddie pool, running through spinklers and the like. I am off out for my first beer in a looong time with DSD tonight. It's her birthday tomorrow. Saturday we have a birthday party for the kids, soccer in the evening and Sunday we'll be yard working. Maybe a trip to the lake if we feel adventurous. I am TIRED after precious little sleep the past 5 nights so all will be determined on an hour to hour basis. Mr. Tare leaves for a business trip on Sunday too - ugh, kill me now, pls.

Happy birthday, DSD!

Warming up here too, but probably just to the mid-70s on the coast. Mmmm.

Slow weekend for me; my girlfriend finished her classes this week and is headed home for the summer. Granted, her home is like an hour away, but it's still a far cry from the 5 minutes we enjoyed for the last couple of months. My housemates also are gone for a week, and most of my friends are gone for the summer... it's problematic having friends in college! But I plan on doing my P90X workouts, catching up on my sleep, visiting my parents, and going to church. And playing a LOT of videogames!

I really should go apartment hunting as well...

Working on the garden. Then have a party with a bunch of young college grad students saturday to attend.

Oh and some of you are on my facebook page if you want to see the most recent pic i've taken of part of the garden, as of last weekend.

The fam is starting to show signs of a cold invading our premises. Depending on how we feel, and how Tare feels, she's buying me a drink for my birthday and Im buying her a congrats drink for surviving 3 children tonight.

Tomorrow's I plan on sleeping until the kids beat the crap out of me under the guise of waking me up and wishing me a happy birthday. I'm getting a haircut mid morning, than we'll chill until the Mr. takes me out to one of my favorite restaurants, Unaabi Grill and then off to a bar to get drunk and frisky.Smiley: wink

Sunday is reserved for being insanely lazy and kicking my mom out the door as soon as possible after thanking her for babysitting for us. I love my mom, but I'm not in the mood to entertain and hear how old she is, to have a daughter my age.Smiley: glare

Tonight, I go to see the Trevi Fountain, possibly a few other sights in the area. Saturday, we see the Vatican (St. Peter's, Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museum), and try to make it through the Forum. If we can't make the Forum on Sat, we'll do it Sunday instead, in addition to the inside tour of the Colosseum.

Enjoy some pictures. Smiley: smile

Where in NY?

Tomorrow I'm headed up to Albany to help my brother-in-law move into their new apartment. Sunday I have to work. it's all outdoor stuff so hopefully the possible rain I've heard will stay away.

I remember on our way to the Trevi Fountain there was a bar with a sign, "Skip the Trevi, have a bevy!" For some reason, we thought that was hilarious and took a picture of it.

St. Peter's was amazing. The Sistine Chapel... I don't know. Something about being in this huge room with one of the most famous works of art on the ceiling, and looking about to see a ton of people with headphones on and security guards (who stepped out to shush everyone if we got too loud) made it seem a little cheapened somehow. It was difficult to take my eyes off of the mural on the back wall, though. That was very interesting.

We also went to Florence and had the opportunity to see the sculpture of David, which was amazing. They had a room that showed unfinished sculptures, where you could see the chisel marks. For some reason, I found that more interesting than the finished products. Later, we saw The Duomo. I fell in love. Florence was, by far, my favorite city that we visited in Italy. You know, out of the three that we went to. Smiley: grin

This is actually my second trip through Roma. The last time I was in Italy, I was able to see Florence and Venize as well. Florence is nice, but it's the small towns out in the country (Lucca, Pisa, and especially San Gimignano) that were my favorite part by far.

Awesome Demea.

I'll not be doing much. Getting spring cleaning done for incoming house guests. Plant some stuff. Maybe something exciting will come up. Probably not.

Gonna go jump the hubby right now though...it's all good.

Hope you have a good one DSD.

Nothing planned here. We got snow yesterday, tomorrow is supposed to be crappy, and Sunday is supposed to be worse with the possibility of more snow. I'll probably sit inside and game all weekend unless something better comes up.

That sounds awesome. I want to go back.

My husband and I recently took a trip to Dublin. It was over New Years, and they had the coldest winter they'd had in 30 years. We still had an awesome time. It's been my favorite vacation by far.

And, good lord, the food. Smiley: drool2

Studying for Criminal Procedure exam on Tuesday.

And trying to put in a little more time in The World Ends With You.

And drinking all three new Mnt. Dew flavors. Is it just me, or does Distortion scream 'mixer-ready'?

The food in Dublin? I'm heading over in June, first stop is Copenhagen, then Dublin for 4 days, then probably Germany. I'm pumped, my first real vaca in 10 years.

More playing outside in the dirt here. Hopefully I'll break my trenching curse and actually get a working machine out to my yard so I can finish this damned irrigation project. it's starting to **** me off. Then gotta get another 5 yards of dirt delivered and 2-3 more barkdust. After that, garden can ocurr. I'm going to try to get almost all of that ready for plants next week. i doubt I will finish entirely though.

Had dinner with the folks tonight, they came over, I barbiqued. Was nice. Ate an artachoke as big as a basketball.

Suffern, Rockland County.

Not that I already hadn't discovered this from my other visits to the US, but the level of friendliness/politeness here flies in the face of every misconception people have about Americans.

Yesterday I went with 2 of my girls and grand daughter to the Spoutwood PA, 2010 May Day Fairie Festival. I'm now trying to recover from standing and walking on pastures, for over 4 hours. Erin being 4 1/2, have a wonderful time seeing one of her friends, who parents are vendors at several events we go to. I picked up 3 more herbs for the garden. Spearmint, Lemon Thyme and French Tarragon.

Though they invited me back today, I decided that with upcoming events the last 2 weekends of May. I needed to conserve my energy.

Being Bealtaine Jonwin and I were frisky this morning before he had to get ready for work.

I also give DSD this video in the spirit of the day. Omnia - Tine Bealtaine (Pagan FolkLore DVD)

Nothing Planned for tomorrow. Only thing i must do is get my herbs planted in the garden as I came home too late last night.

Rockland County is nice; near enough to the city you can do stuff and not Westchester snooty. There are a lot of Hacidic Jewish communities; Suffern being one of the bigger ones. I lived in Nyack for a few years; that is a very nice little town. Check it out if you can. Nice bars and restaurants, and Tarantella's is one of the best pizza joints I've ever been to.
