Best TV commercial on the subject I've seen.

The way the audio goes along with the visual makes it one of the better commercials out there that try to take a serious look at something. The only thing it is missing is... well.. as one commenter put "And then the third daughter comes an smacks him in the face with a pillow to simulate the airbag!". Except that looked more like his wife and how that would totally ruined the whole "seriousness" of the commercial. Still would have made me laugh pretty hard.

OMG, the guy who does Larry is the same voice actor that does Garfield from the ******* animated series.

Wow, that was lovely.

Australia made wearing seatbelts compulsory for all drivers and passengers in the 70's, and pulled drivers up for random seat belt checks in the first year. The next year the road toll HALVED. The big worry is in China, people refuse to wear seat belts because of a question of "face". Passengers feel that if they put a seatbelt on, they are outright insulting the driver's skill in driving a car, and declaring a general lack of trust in that person.

The only way I could see them solving that is if they started doing infomercials where people who cause accidents are the oncoming cars, not the driver of said car. Stress that it is not disrespectful to buckle up in someone car but it would be disrespectful if the driver of the car didn't insist that everyone buckle up. My two cents.

Nice idea, slightly gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Yeah, it is.

I hated wearing seatbelts as a teenager and young adult. My opinion changed the moment I found out I was breeding and I never looked back. Now, you can't get in my car unless you wear a seatbelt.

Nice.

Also: watching this made me re-watch those workplace safety accident videos. Particularly the kitchen one, haha.

I dont mind the Chinese not wearing seat belts. For them it can be another form of population control.

I know personally that they work. Many years back I crashed my car into a bridge. I had a burn mark across my chest from the shoulder harness. They work!

It's not like it matters. Wearing seat belts in a Chinese car is like wearing a bicycle helmet on a motorcycle.
