In a statement, she said, "I make cartoons about current, cultural events. I made a cartoon of a 'poster' entitled "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day!" with a nonexistent group's name -- Citizens Against Citizens Against Humor -- drawn on the cartoon also. I did not intend for my cartoon to go viral. I did not intend to be the focus of any 'group'. I practice the first amendment by drawing what I wish. This particular cartoon of a 'poster' seems to have struck a gigantic nerve, something I was totally unprepared for. I am going back to the drawing table now!"

As a snarky response to Muslim bloggers who "warned" Comedy Central about an episode of South Park showing the Prophet Mohammed wearing a bear suit, one Seattle cartoonist, who calls laughter her form of "prayer," is asking artists all over the world to create depictions of Mohammed on May 20. A Facebook page has been set up to cache the images for all to see.

Speaking on a Seattle radio show on Friday, cartoonist Molly Norris said she announced her idea as a way of countering the fear exhibited by Comedy Central in censoring episode 201 of South Park.

Finally people are standing up to the tyrany of Islamofascism. Laughing at Muzzies is quite possibly the most subversive and effective method to turn the tide of appeasement the politically correct have foisted upon us to timidly accept threats as the price for cultural sensitivity.

I'm really bad at drawing so will probably bow out on May 20th. Honestly, I don't care that people make funnies about different religions, cultures, etc...I'll laugh. It's too bad some whacko offed the dutch cartoonist, but that was an individual act. I also think if a tv show wants to censor content, so bit it...it's their show to do with as they please. Honestly, I think South Park is simply riding the tailwind of controversy that comes along whenever they threaten to censor a particular show....didn't they go through a very similar string of events with Scientology show?

How stupid is she? She's mocking a group who complained about a cartoon. Did she really not expect them to backlash at her too? Fucking ******.

I do support her idea though. Not that I expect anything good to come from it, at all. But I don't care, as I'm just petty like that.

I didn't read the article, but are you talking about Comedy Central, Muslims, or that New York based group that said Trey and Matt should be prepared to die now?

I think she meant that the bomb disposal equipment she order had not arrived yet.

I've always been flattered that they cared, frankly, if not just a bit disappointed that the likeness wasn't better.

Get back to me when you find the story about someone being killed for simply drawing a picture of the US flag. Not burning. Not stepping on. Not defecating on. Not wearing as underwear. Although, I'm not sure you can find examples of anyone being killed for doing any or all of those either. But how about just drawing a picture of the US flag.

Can you do that? If not, then you really can't compare the two.

Didn't South Park do this already? When they showed the episode of Family Guy with Mohammed?

Or did the episode within the show get censored? I forget how it all turned out.

They showed Mohammed uncensored back in 2001 before 9/11 and nobody really cared (though now the episode is banned), and did it two times since then, which both got censored.
