The Times' review of purchasing records examined all expenditures listed under a specific product services code for "alcoholic beverages" contained in a federal spending database. The findings showed that purchases rose from $139,657 in 2008 to $294,639 last year.

We went from a sober responsible president to one who drinks like a college frat boy who doesn't care about the bill he's leaving his parents.

Um. Yeah.

That's not what the article says. You should stop drinking before you post.

I don't care about the bill we're leaving for his parents either since they're both deceased.

Someone needs to point out to you that the State Department isn't at the White House in most parallel realities.

Why is it the dumbass at the fence watching the crop circle is always the one interviewed for television?

Plus they're just going to pay for it with gazelle horns or bundles of elephant tusks or those giant stone discs or whatever it is they use for money in Kenya.

Yeah I'm sure Obama drinks it all himself.

So, the real question is, are we going to hit a second page arguing about 0.000008375% of the federal budget from 2009?

That's more than a tenth of a cent for every person over 18! Oh wait, 47% of households don't even pay taxes! That's nearly a quarter of a cent per taxpayer!

I have enough change sitting in a pile on my desk to pay for 2388 people's shares of this booze bill. God I'm so rich.

I like the fact they have a bottle of Jack in the article (my poison of choice).

The better question is, how much taxpayer money went up Dubya's nose?

He's the one in charge. You wanted a drunk frat boy and that's what you got. Of course that does explain his enormous spending.

So are you actually insinuating that Obama is personally responsible for overseeing every single dollar spent by every single federally controlled/funded organization? You can't be THAT dumb. There aren't enough hours in a day for any one person to micromanage every aspect of the entire federal government's budget.

Ivory tower elitist drunk frat boy?

An apt picture since most of the money went towards bottles of liquor as gifts and Jack Daniels is a quintessentially American liquor for the State Department to give to visiting diplomats from other countries.

Aren't you supposed to smoke it? I heard all those stories of Slash and Dwight Gooden blowing up glass crack pipes in their faces.

I thought it was a suppository. I mean, really, with a name like Crack, how could it be anything else?

You smoke it out of a pipe. you put the rocks in, you light it, you inhale, you get really high, and repeat until you run out of money and things to pawn.
