As winter shiver'd chilling to the bone
With snow and sleet and hail to freeze the heart,
So Spring, delayed is coming to its own
The Summer makes a welcome threat to start.
My carbon footprint swollen by the cold
Once tumble-drying socks and pants and shirts
Is now diminished; washing line unrolled,
And back to air-dried freshness I revert.
My garden seat is back in its own spot
Beside the roses and the daffodils;
A sun-trap where the cool has turned to hot
And sunshine makes warm bones from winter chills.
Long ev'nings beckon, bringing soul to cheer;
So now's the time to fill the fridge with Beer. Smiley: cool

Autumn's awful
And Winter's worse.
You'll find me in Spring
In the back of a hearse.

That's not a sonnet, of course. I don't have the patience.

When winter's wrath relaxes
It's icy, frozen grip
I finish up my taxes
Relax, and take a sip
A bit o' gin and tonic
A liv'ly springtime song
Or go all supersonic
With a hit off of my bong
The birds are nests'a'building
Their coloUrs black and fawn
But I'm a sad, sad townling
'Cause I have to mow the lawn

EDIT: because bad spelling ruins an already bad bit o' poetry

You're welcome, Demea Smiley: glare

EDIT x2: Goddam you, Kavekk Smiley: mad

Ninety-two yesterday; eighty-eight today.

It's only April for fuck's sake! It's supposed to rain tomorrow but I still had to water down the fresh grass seeds and dirt I put down the other day or else it would have baked into brick.

Just above freezing here in the Midwest today.

I was planning on hitting the driving range today, too. Smiley: mad

The rain overnight was nice. Got rid of some of the horrible pollen.

And the church said amen.

Of it's over 20 I'm in shorts & sandals. Over freezing, I'd surf if there were waves. Driving range is a nice day in the chilly sun for me.
