Fulton, MS vs Constance reduxFollow

Today I am beyond disbelief at the most incredibly shallow reasoning encouraging ignoring the civil rights violations that Constance, as well as all of the GLBT communities, endure at the hands of homophobes.

Using the belief that their christian faith leads them to believe rapture is coming in 2012, some back the argument against the fight for GLBT civil rights. Following the unfolding war that is being carried out over the internet, I've seen Fulton, MS residents threaten physical violence if any of Constance's supporters were to show up in their town. Calls for her to leave town, adults of the community writing how they believe she will burn in hell and the countless slander of Constance's character. They also placed signs on the school that read,

“What happened to the Bible Belt?” and “Why would we condone this?”.

I assumed that because the exclusive event that all but 7 students were allowed to attend is being called a "party" that Fulton,Ms residents had found a way around the judge's ruling. This link http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3852964&op=1&o=all&view=all&subj=367776042862&aid=-1&oid=367776042862&id=665563923 was posted today, the school's prom decorations at the non-prom. I could be wrong, but wouldn't using decorations funded by the school at the "party" infer that the school in fact supported this party as THE prom?

Seems like Gbaji was wrong and this is more of a religion vs civil rights argument to a good portion of Fulton, Ms.

Gbaji, before you unleash your incredible wall of nonsensical ramblings, here are the links to the ACLU complaint http://www.aclu.org/files/assets/McMillen_complaint_final.pdf and the school district's explanation for the prom cancellation http://www.aclu.org/files/assets/ICSD_PRESS_STMT.pdf.

It's not possible at all that they made their own decorations and decided to use the same theme...?

Sorry, but I'm not sure I'm going to take some random posts on Facebook as proof of anything...

We needed a third subject on this. For sure.

Also, the vast majority of people on that page support the girl now, and your first link seems to be broken.

Especially because this facebook group has already been discussed in the other one.

I meant to type it as a reply to the first thread, I'm just not so talented with forum use. 8(

It's ok, I was a forum newbie too once. I appreciated reading your OP.

You'll find at the top of every POST in a thread a little "Reply to this" phrase. Mouse-click on that and that'll get you to a box that will enable you to make a new post in the thread.

When you are making your new post, you will see near the top, near your name and the Subject title, the phrase "Markup: (Quote Original). If you mouse-click on Quote Original it will make an instant Quote-Box of the particular post you chose to click "Reply to this" on.

I guess I can understand how one could make the mistake of clicking on "New Subject" instead of "Reply to this". And I can see how a forum newbie might not notice that being prompted for a subject line seems odd (lots of forums give you a subject line to fill in even when replying, which I think is "odd", but I suppose it's about what you're used to). But that's usually the big tip off. If the subject field is blank up top, you're creating a new thread instead of replying to the existing one. If that's not what you intend to do, back out and click the "reply to this" button. ;)

Now. What I have done on a few occasions is accidentally edit an old post which I intended to quote. Which gets a bit embarrassing, when you were attempting to correct someone about something you said earlier in the thread, and then you accidentally edit the post you were going to quote to prove them wrong. I've always managed to recover the old post, but still...

If that's the case, then you've clearly never done this.

The admin post edit and quote post button used to be right next to eachother. I have to say that there were a couple times I accidentally edited things before that got moved.

I've never accidentally banned my own account twice though, like Justine the twice banned did!
