Anyone got amazing Easter weekend plans?

I found out yesterday that we get to go home at noon today in observation of Good Friday. This morning I thought "Woohoo! Half day!" and celebrated with some McD's drive-through breakfast, realizing an hour later that I ate a Sausage McMuffin on Good Friday after six weeks of following Lent restrictions Smiley: oyvey Now I need to hand in my Catholic card.

The US Treasury Department chose today to put a sizable amount of cash into our checking account so now it's new computer ahoy!

Some spring cleaning tomorrow (yay?) and Easter brunch on Sunday. Hopefully a fairly low key weekend.

Tare better not be in labor yet. Smiley: mad

No specifically Easter-related plans. Fixing a sick computer (hopefully just a new power supply), etc. etc.

Spent most of the morning drinking coffee and perusing apartment listings online. Thank Bob for three-day weekends.

Plans for later this weekend include the driving range, laundry, and possibly an evening out with the fellas. I also need to send in my taxes; this is the first time in my life that I won't be receiving a refund from either Uncle Sam or Uncle Daley, and it has made me legitimately depressed. Smiley: frown

Husband is at Frolicon being the token academic amidst the BDSM/kink/furry/wtf shenanigans. He gets a free badge and hotel, they get someone with a shiny PhD to do a presentation on erotica in anime, slash, and a few other things. (I'm sure the "two nukes" dude is going to get an honorable mention during some of those panels.)

I, on the other hand, am editing page 51/148, and I'm still trying to come up with a list of 10 agents to send query letters to when I've actually gotten my book presentable. It's gonna be a fun weekend of editing for me.

On Easter itself, I shall indulge in my yearly Cadbury egg.

Easter BBQ (don't ask) at my father's place today. Saturday will be some shopping for work (xbox360 and all the toys to go with), probably see Clash of the Titans and go out for dinner with the GF and then Sunday we're over at my mother's for Easter dinner.

I'm working a half day today as well. Gonna finish up my shopping today. No plans for tonight, so I'll probably just straighten up the house.

Tomorrow is either paintball with the boss or a brewery tour in Austin (Yay, free beer!). They played paintball last weekend so might skip this one. Saturday night I'm going to a hockey game at the AT&T Center.

Sunday my daughters are arriving for their spring break weekend. We're going to do some egg hunting during the day and gonna try and catch the new Clash of the Titans that night.

We're going out for Easter Brunch. I made reservations at my very favorite (but very spendy) restaurants - so I'm psyched.

I'm fer sure gonna get my garden tilled this weekend. Beyond that it's the same old stuff - Friday night boozin' with my gaming guild, housework, yardwork, play with my hubby:)

Nice extended weekend for me. Brought the kid in to work for a half day yesterday then saw How To Train Your Dragon (not a bad flick, I was amused throughout). Today is largely yard cleanup/make the beds plantable day, but I am rewarded this evening by watching a sh;tty hockey team play a perennially disappointing one (Shark @ Wild). Tomorrow I get to go back to the basement for more building then Sunday enjoy the colorful company of my wife's family and hide Easter eggs.

I've heard that too. I still am going to go see it next Wednesday.

My son and I had originally planned to go after dinner on Sunday, but it's not showing at our theater until Monday. I guess the 3-D screen is being used for the Dragon movie.

Nope, not in labor but as of today I am full term! So bring it on, Baby.

This weekend weather is going to be hot. We're pressure washing the cement in the back yard, planting beds and dragging out the pool stuff for the kids. BBQ with friends on Saturday afternoon (wish I could drink - perfect day for some beers) and Sunday is Bunny Day so we'll be doing that in the am and probably more yard work in the afternoon. Pretty boring weekend, really.

Tonight: It's the Noblet's 18th Burfday today, so we're all piling down to a Bangladeshi Restaurant (including the former Mrs Nobby Smiley: um). Should be lulz.

Tomorrow: A lazy day with the little woman, maybe a nice lunch and some shopping.

Sunday: A Motorsports day. Watching the F1 Grand Prix on telly, then me and Dracoid are going to watch my brother race his car round a track until he crashes it again. Smiley: cool

Monday: No clue. Probably laze around at home.

It's my birthday weekend which will be spent watching Butler, my alma mater, beat Michigan State and then hopefully beat Duke on Monday. When they do that, hating myself for not taking a 35-1 bet on Butler winning it all during the Sweet Sixteen.

On Tuesday we have to put our dog down, she's been fighting cancer for a couple months now and it's finally time now.

If the pleasantly warm weather holds, I'll be spending as little of this weekend in doors as possible. My family never made a big deal about Easter, it's basically just an excuse to eat Ham and chocolate (usually not at the same time), so no big plans for this weekend other than enjoying the weather.

I took Thursday off, had Friday off. Giving myself a four day weekend to start work again on the outside of my house, hanging siding since I took it all off when I redid the windows on the front of the door.

While it was 70 and sunny the past two days, it seems that tomorrow it is going to rain all day. It wasn't supposed to rain til Sunday night. Seems I won't get as much done outside as I had hoped. It already looks much better. Hopefully it will be done next weekend. Then I can start my basement remodeling.

Going to cut a hole in the hill my house sits on, add a door that enters to the basement. I'll make a nice Den area in the basement. Once there is a door at ground level with a path leading straight out to the driveway, I'll be able to easily empty all the junk I've accumulated in my basement in the 15 years since we built the house. Including many boxes of clothes from when I was a child.

I had a strange urge to get drunk this evening. I was looking forward to it all day, with two friends finishing their last days of work before moving on to new jobs, I thought we'd be celebrating. However, come 4pm I start making calls and no one wants to do anything. I ended up have a couple pints after work with a buddy, and bought a 12'er of Guinness for home. I'm now sitting here with a new dvd of Boondock Saints II All Saints Day and am ready to see how disappointed I am.

The Guinness is tasting mighty good though...

As for Easter, no plans. My friend's mom usually cooks us up something, but her health is getting pretty bad, I'm not sure she'll see another Easter. Damn shame, she's a cool dame. She has lots of stories of the 60's, seeing The Doors live, meeting Jimmy Buffett, etc.

Definitely not ***. I mean, it's a remake of a very cheesy movie, so don't expect a fantastic movie, but it was definitely worth the money spent. Climax wasn't as much as one would hope, but the movie itself was good. Also remember that it's a movie based on a myth and not any attempt at a historical movie (not that I think you really need that reminder).

Basically, it was entertaining so long as you shut off your brain. Definitely could have been better but then again, they could have fucked it up severely too.

So far, this weekend has been all about running about outside in the sun with Thom, wearing us both out. Tomorrow looks to be more of the same, but with plastic Easter eggs thrown into the mix.

I'm pretty sure that if the Pope can forgive the priests for banging little boys he can forgive you for that, unless he decides that your transgression is much more serious.

History has shown that eating meat on Fridays is far more serious than a little good-natured buggery.
