Unethical. He says he's not turning people away, but the reality is that no one wants to see a doctor that emphatically doesn't want to see them.

In essence he's denying patients care based on their politics.

I have a similar sign above my beer fridge in the garage, only it says "If you voted for Obama the Bud Light is for you. I can only afford so much good beer now!"

It's a bit of a wasted gesture though, since the only person I hang out with who voted Obama drinks my wine instead.

He doesn't have to like it, it's the law motherfucker.

Apparently not.

In reality there are plenty of patients doctors don't want to see, and most people are smart enough to know that, so the argument falls kinda flat.

Which would be important if it were a) true or b) illegal. There's nothing in the Civil Rights act about Stupid.

Health Reform, silly buns.

Quote:
President Obama has signed into law health reform legislation that brings down health care costs for American families and small businesses, expands coverage to millions of Americans and ends the worst practices of insurance companies. And it begins to do so this year.

And how does that relate to the doctor who doesn't want to treat people who voted for the President? Or does it not and you were just spouting some meaningless tripe?

Being a doctor is not just a job. It is a sacred trust.

When I worked in a medical office we were specifically instructed to treat all patients equally, even the smelly, oozy ones. If a patient is able to suss out that they're not wanted it should be by dint of their own effort, not by the words or actions of their physician or those employed by their physician.

Now, this particular doctor certainly has a legal right to refuse treatment to anyone based on anything or on nothing at all. But ethical? Nope.

Looks like he's still treating them.

Any Doctor like that wouldn't be worth my time or money. Whether I agree with him on this subject or not is irrelevant as we're likely to disagree on something else at some point. And I'd find it difficult to see a Doctor who I didn't feel I could trust 100%.

Yeah, I agree. Even if I agreed with his politics I wouldn't be interested in trusting my health to this person.

And that's exactly where I believe you're wrong. People can still choose to come in and get served. So it is not a de facto denial of service.

As are our liberties. The expression of an opinion or a point of view shouldn't be diminished simply because a person chooses to fix pee pee things.

I agree as well. I wouldn't go see him even though he's doing nothing wrong (and I agree with him).

274 reviews now. Me thinks some people are just scoring him badly because of his posted sign.
