Can we talk?

You have a dog, right, and you love taking him to the beach where he can chase endangered species in the surf, haha, good times.

If you think he's in trouble, don't jump in to try to save him. Especially if you live on the Pacific coast and you're not conveniently wearing a wet suit.

I must see some variation of this story... estimating... 3-5 times a year. Doggy flounders in rough surf, owner plunges in to save doggy, owner dies, doggy makes it back to the shore on his own.

I'd almost suspect a conspiracy.

What? Owners who are dumber than their dogs?

Yeah, real conspiracy.

Dogs who jump in and wait for their owners to drown before serenely swimming back out.

I fully expect Totem's poodle to do this very thing.

That's the sort of conspiracy I could endorse.

Personally speaking, if my dog can't bring me back that endangered specie so I can bring it home and stuff it, it's welcome to drown.

You are a dog, right, and you love taking your owner hiking where she can get some exercise, fresh air, haha, good times.

If she falls off a cliff, into a river, jump in to try to save her. Especially if she might have hit her head. Yes, it is a lot of work, but owners are cuddly and lovable. And they might feed you steak every now and then as a reward.

Are the dogs beneficiaries?

No... the dogs are on our side.

They might be getting duped by the Animal Conspiracy, though....
