When I lived in Minneapolis, (2005-2006), I listened to a **** ton of NPR. Minnesota Public Radio has a pretty decent budget, because of Prairie Home Companion and whatnot. Also, they sponsored some neat events, like one where my good friend's band (from Des Moines) played a set and opened for John Hodgman doing stand up. When I moved back to Iowa, I had to give up NPR because it was crap in comparison. I still know exactly where MPR cuts out and I have to switch to IPR on the drive south. Smiley: mad

I am also a public television member, but that's because of the cooking shows and the cartoons.

zomg socialism!

We were members of the local NPR station last year; they had a "student" special where you could get the $125 gift for the student price of $25. The $125 gift was a buy one get one free card for a lot of restaurants in GA. That card paid for itself at least twice over.

We did not renew the membership because of Mara Liasson. And we told them so last time they asked us for money. You can complain all you want about the left wing slant of NPR, but as long as that Fox news mole is on their payroll, they're not getting another penny from us.

Ed Shultz.

Considering Shultz is from my homestate of ND, which is generally a right wing state, and he originally had a local talk show when he considered himself a republican I can't listen to anything this man spews out. I may lean to the left most of the time but damn, whoever gave this guy a nationally syndicated talk show is missing a few screws.

Last time I listened to a liberal talk radio show, it was pretty funny. Plenty of crazies.
