If I saw one of those in real life, I would literally construct a fusion weapon and obliterate that entire location from orbit. Spiders like that should not and cannot exist! La la la I can't hear you!!!!

Yeah, I'm usually pretty relaxed on the issue of creepy-crawlies. But that... that is an abomination.

Hmm, looks like a Huntsman. They're big and ugly, but relatively harmless. If cornered they can become rather bold and actually attack a human, but their venom isn't dangerous to humans. By the way, Kao, never visit Australia.

Ray tried to kill a huge spider in our bedroom last night. He failed and now there is a huge spider somewhere under the bed, ready to crawl up under the covers as we sleep.

now with optional flamethrower attachment!

I'm going to start breeding robot laser equipped ones of these too, with spider seaking missiles. Did I mention the lasers?

I watched BT go all He-Man on a silverfish this morning. He was making sausage and started screaming nonsensically at the top of his lungs, and I thought he had burned himself. We located the intruder, but he refused to step on it with the shoes that he was wearing, so he started throwing a boot at it.

I really should just step up and be the bug-killer of the household, because BT's mania whenever he sees anything with more than four legs is pretty counter-productive to eliminating small creepy-crawlies. I told him to just grab it with some tissue and flush it down the toilet. I'm afraid to ask what he actually did to dispose of it, after hearing the wailing it got from the boot.

The only creepy-crawlies I ever see around the house are predatory ones: spiders, centipedes, earwigs, etc. Which I guess means they're keeping the non-predatory invertebrate population under control.

Well, except for the occasional ant infestation in the spring when the wet ground floods them out of the yard. Then I need more spiders, centipedes and earwigs Smiley: mad

I always ***** at my wife when she insists that I kill the spiders lurking in the windows: would you rather have spiders sitting unobtrusively in the corners of the house, or mosquitoes invading and biting you up?

She invariably sides with the mosquitoes for some goddam reason. In response I will frequently let the spiders "escape".

Real men can take care of both spiders and mosquitoes in their homes.

Just sayin'

My response would be, "Neither." Which is why we get our house sprayed every year, and kill anything that finds its way inside.

In the yard, that's a different story. You don't **** with me, I won't squash you. In my house, though, that's a whole different ballgame.

Well, I guess I could get a few dump trucks of dirt and fill in all the boggy areas around the property...

Quote:
When the wasp larva hatches it begins to feed on the still-living spider. After consuming the edible parts of the spider, the larva spins a silk cocoon and pupates – usually emerging as an adult the next summer. Some ceropalines lay the egg on a still-active spider, where it feeds externally on hemolymph. In time, that spider will die, and the mature wasp larva will then pupate.

Nature is so freaking creepy sometimes.

Would be interesting to put that up against one of these in a creature battle.

I hope you get run over by a bus crossing the street, but that's beside the point. NSFA* warnings on spider pictures and ESPECIALLY on gifs of SPIDERS CRAWLING ON F'UCKING SPIDERS!

Duct tape turns me in to a little girl. It makes it so the tuck is easier to maintain.

Funny, I would've had you pegged as a tape up.
