Dream recall can be a nebulous thing. It is common to wake up "in the middle" of a dream where the experiences are fresh in the mind; many people try to fall back asleep to continue the dream. This generally doesn't work well. Dreams will quickly dissolve from conscious memory and leave little but a faded impression. Sometimes, though, dream recall can be triggered in part or in full at any time - be it later that day, or a week later, or years. I often get full-blown dream recall occurring after even a decade.

I've actually done this quite a few times, usually without even trying to. Seems to me like it's related somewhat to lucid dreaming, which is also something I've been able to pull off, but not nearly as much as I could when I was younger.

My overall dream recall sucks though. Generally by the time I'm out of bed, it's already gone.

One method is to write your dreams down as soon as you wake up; however since that usually involves fumbling around for pen and paper and turning on a light, it may not be very effective.

What I find more useful is to lie quietly and tell myself the dream, like a story. I tend to remember the story, if not the dream.

I suppose the conscious narrative just uses a different synaptic path to memory storage. Dunno!

I deal with this frequently Sometimes the recalled dreams are so fresh in my mind years after I start to question if I had it recently as well. Other times (like this morning) I woke up remembering everything vividly about my dreams, but by the time I got my coffee, dealing with the kids, it was gone.

I do remember I was dreaming about raiding though. Smiley: blush

You should. You can decorate your house!
I would think The Sims would be a better game for digital home decorating distractions.

You'd think that, and you'd be wrong.

Never played the Sims but after seeing the web site about all the creative ways to torment and kill them, I was tempted.

Haha, that weapon rack reminds me of the trip to the museum in Boston! (or was that an art gallery?)

I always smile fondly in memory of you trying to bum cigarettes off me after telling everyone not to give you cigarettes.
