No, the bill is the complete bill and has become law. The House just said "Yeah, ok, we know the Republicans are stalling, so let's get the important part through and then we can wrangle out the rest of it after." It was kind of the huge point of discussion here for the past few days... did you miss it? Long story short, the bill is a law now, and the debates and amendments over the reconciliation will not affect the actual bill itself, which goes into effect now.

And yeah, the Senate bill was available for like three months. That's pretty up front. Now, it remains to be seen what the reconciliation becomes. Let's see if it gets passed quickly and openly, or if endless amendments and stalling keep it from being "upfront with the American people."

So by your estimation there are unimportant parts that need to be "wrangled out" now that it's passed?

I believe the argument will hinge on the Commerce Clause, actually.

If the Supremes rule that Congress can't regulate commerce on this issue it's going to open up a whole huge can of worms.

That could be interesting but it's most likely not going to happen.

Insurance has traditionally been left up to the states to self regulate. Not only that but how can the interstate commerce clause be used here to justify this? States don't deal health insurance across state lines.

What's funny is that no one that posts on this website is truly and ridiculously poor. If you have the time and money to spend on the internet, you're not poor.

This means that the people on this site advocating for the rights of the poor are simply people that want to help genuinely poor people.

Please tell me you don't actually think that the phrase "General Welfare" actually means anything vaguely related to what the today call "welfare". You get that the creation of entitlement programs was named "welfare" precisely in the hopes that ignorant people would make the very connection you are now making.
