And it's serving one of my favorite edibles!

This is one of those times that I'm seriously kicking myself for not being born on the other side of the Ocean. I would love to go here and try this out, being a historic/mythological/tapas loving freak.

Ricotta cheese and sticky honey does sound pretty good right about now.

Two thousand year old Roman coins? I wonder how much those would go for on the open market.

I think that snack bar was responsible for the destruction of Pompeii; the owner was probably researching a faster, more efficient way to bake the cheese and then...

The queues in that place are going to be horrendous.

That was a seriously well done frieze for a shop. Those Romans really knew how to decorate.

depending on the condition and metal type and rarity, between $15 dollars and $3,000 on average. I own several low value roman coins from the same era, probably worth about $30, but the right coin in good condition can fetch a nice price. The gold ones usually go for alot more than the usual silver coins, but were alot rarer as well, though there are silver ones that are move valuable simply due to them corroding over time and this being rarer in good condition.

Pompeii was added to Google Street View a few months ago. Pretty cool to see how much more of the city they've excavated in the past few years.

The main thing I remember from visiting Pompeii 15 years ago as a teenager was the massive sunburn I got that day. Seriously, that place had no places to stand in the shade.

Yeah, that was a major problem two thousand years ago, too.
