Final CBO numbers can be posted as early as this afternoon. Obama has delayed his Asia trip until June, thus removing the concern that there may not be time for the 72 hour window + vote before he departs.

By way of FiveThirtyEight.com, Public Policy Polling has released an interesting chart showing growing approval for health care reform among both liberals and moderates, the numbers being weighed down by conservative disapproval.

It's also worth noting that the individual components poll well with conservatives, it's just the evil **** communist plot bill that polls poorly.

Jophed,

Omg a liberal posting biased graphs to support their position. Say it aint so.

Most americans don't want Obamacare. Obama knows this, congress knows this, the GOP knows this. Of course as long as the media keeps telling you how great it's going to be you radical liberals are all for it.

If most americans were for this Pelosi wouldn't be trying to get around having a vote on it.

Quote:
Pelosi said: "I like it, because people don't have to vote on the Senate bill."

I guess according to Democrats there's no need to vote on bills anymore.

Nobby,

Well Obamy is ready to give them aid for a massive earthquake. I was just wondering if I missed a major disaster the last couple of days.

Also I especially like how Obamy is ready to give disaster funds to La but not Ms. Of course I understand why; liberals need all the help they can get and will beg their as* off until they get itk, and Ms is not a liberal state.

Also since under the constitution only the House can raise taxes, how are taxpayers supposed to "deem to pay" the new taxes contained in the Senate health care entitlement legislation?

PPP puts out biased graphs? Huh.

As the early 21st century political philosopher Stephen Colbert once said, "Reality has a well known liberal bias".

A liberal quoting another liberal in response to a liberal source.

Do you ever receive any information that doesn't come from rabid liberal news sources?

Joph,

Good point. So what do you think about that point?

Or about the fact that Democrats don't want this to come to a vote in the house and senate?

Do you think the majority should be able to enact any laws they like without a vote in both the hosue and senate regardless of what the constitution says?

Xsarus,

You say that but which party is actually doing this.

This is why when Democrats whine about things like "warrantless wiretapping" and about protecting the rights of it's citizens no one takes them seriously.

Are you really ready to sh*t on the constitution to get this passed?

I seem to recall there being a vote in the senate on health care reform that passed.

Not much. People (well, conservatives) act as though this is the first bill that's included incentives to people for votes. It's as though you're all little poli-virgins.

Quote:
Or about the fact that Democrats don't want this to come to a vote in the house and senate?

Sure they do. Once the GOP says it won't filibuster a bill, see how quickly one comes to a vote Smiley: smile

Quote:

There would be a vote, it would simply cover both bills. Given that "deem & pass" has been used many many times before, starting to worry about it now isn't a fear that the Constitution is being threatened but merely a desire to stop this specific bit of legislation.

So you're ok with political pay offs and bribes. I'm not surprised.

Quote:

No they don't and you know it. The last thing anyone up for re-election this year wants to do is vote on obamacare. It will end their political career and they know it. So the obvious solution for Democrats is to pass a bill without having congress vote on it.

Quote:
Given that "deem & pass" has been used many many times before

So no the slauther rule in the House is something that's never been done before.

Anything else?

#51ThiefX, Posted: Mar 18 2010 at 4:06 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey Joph if so many people are in favor of Obamacare then why are so many Dems afraid to vote yes? Why is the Democratic leadership having to "force" so many of their own into voting for it?
