The tape has self-destructed.

It's sad that his life is over, Oveur.

I guess he finally accepted a mission that really was impossible.

Or recognized the impossibility of the one he was already on.

Co-workers and I have been reading over all the Airplane! quotes this morning, good stuff.

Quote:
Captain Oveur: You ever been in a cockpit before?
Joey: No sir, I've never been up in a plane before.
Captain Oveur: You ever seen a grown man naked?

Captain Oveur: Joey, have you ever been in a... in a Turkish prison?

One of my favorite stories about the Airplane! movies actually involves an actor who wasn't in them at all.

George Kennedy was allegedly offered a role, and was tempted to accept because hey, the script looked hilarious. In the end he decided that he owed too much of his career to the Airport series and couldn't legitimately lampoon it.

Another TV great has passed on. It's sad that most of the TV greats I watched as a kid are dying off. Rest in peace.

I liked him better as Frank Drebben, Blake Carrington, J Jonah Jameson, Jock Ewing, and all the other interchangeable white-haired mature TV characters from the 60s, 70s and 80s.

Clinton is probably pissed that his favoUrite stand-in is no longer available.
