Things you didn't expect to hear:

"We need to bring back assassinations for political purposes"

That is all.

Who said it?

Not that I disagree, but I'm curious.

The best part about that whole wiki is the fact that he changed his name to be more WASP.

Never heard of him.

So, the meat... why wouldn't you expect to hear it, listening to a "conservative" talk radio host? If he describes himself as an originalist, he shouldn't have a beef with it, as it wasn't excluded in any of the founding documents. As a principle, I think targeted political assassinations of those deemed a danger to the United States would be preferable to, say, war with the countries those people lead.

Sure, but legitimizing it also legitimizes the corollary that foreign countries should be doing the same thing on our turf should they feel threatened, and removes our supposed moral high ground.

Moral High Ground assumes supremacy of one over the other. As one with a very flexible view/aversion to morality in general, I've got no problem with that.

As to opening the corollary, assuming your moral high ground statement that is already open.

As long as you don't invoke the moral case against, say terrorist activities or whatever, then sounds reasonable enough to me.

Maybe for the limits, like would you say assassinations would also be kosher on your home turf. I'd assume it must follow.

I don't believe the defense against terrorism is morality and I believe you should be able to assassinate them here as long as they're not U.S. citizens, as they have that whole constitution thing going for them. The U.N. would probably want safeguards if we did that though.
