Sorry, I would have updated yesterday but I was kind of reeling from it and didnt have the energy. Today I'm pissed though.

So yesterday I went into the SS office with all of my paperwork ready and Xavier in tow. I was trying to teach him a life lesson that no matter how hard something looks you need to stand up for yourself and others when someone is abusing their power. He really got that lesson yesterday. I met with the FPS agent outside and handed him my written statement. He then showed me a written statement by another employee, not the guard. In it she wrote that I was yelling at the guard (who had perfect decorum the entire time) and calling him a bunch of racial slurs (the guard is black). She wrote that other people waiting in line came up to her and told her I was telling Ashe to look at the Monkey and pointing at the guard and laughing.

I was beyond floored, as none of it was true. I stated emphatically that not one word was true, that I have many friends of different cultures and ethnicities, and what could I do to refute these claims? He didnt give me an answer on that. I walked into SS, was called by name and met with the manager I first spoke with. He said information came to light after I spoke with him and wanted to know if I had said any racial slurs to his employees. Again I stated no and that the claims were absolutely ludicrous. I was then moved to a person to finally get my paperwork done.

After completing the application I walked to the door where the FPS agent was chatting with the guard. I waited for him to see me and I asked him if there was anything else I could do to help his investigation. We walked outside and he said he would start tracking down everyone in the office at the time and could I describe anyone. I described 3 people I specifically remember who stood up to the guard and also came to talk to me after. I'm kicking myself for not getting their names or numbers now but I didn't realize it was going to get so nasty.

So I was sent home with the Assurance the investigation would continue but thats it. Yesterday was a really hard day for me. Today I'm fucking pissed. SO now I am trying how to push this forward hard, without ruining the investigation itself. I have a hatred for racism of any kind but to use it as a weapon like this when it never happened only cheapens the cry when racism is real. Also if I let this go, the guard wins, and thinks he can get away with it by pulling the race card. And that doesnt fly in my book. So if anyone has suggestions on where to go from here I'm all ears. I want to bring this ******* down.Smiley: mad

Sorry to say that I seen this type of behavior among co workers who will do anything including lying to help each other keep their jobs. While I was a PTA president of my daughters school, I was back stab more then once by friends of the Principle at the School Board and Headquarters, when I voiced concerns the Parents and Teacher had about her.

Keep on taking this up the chain and don't back down. I like Kao's idea on facebook that you should cc everything you get in writing to your congressmen and senators, as well as the Head of S.S. in D.C.

Mean while I send Hugs to let you know were here to support you.

Consider putting an ad in the local shopper's newspaper, or the weekly hometown newspaper to locate the people who stood up for you.

Also maybe post a flier near the SSA office. It's possible one of them might have to come back, you know how paperwork is.

While in theory the flier may be a good idea, I dont think it would last very long there. You know, about as long as it took for me to walk back to my van Smiley: glare
And surrounding the office is all residential

Put a paid public notice in your local newspaper asking for witnesses. Its done all the time in accident cases.
Since the coworker has mad a claim in writing about you behavior you can also sue for libel. But that is expensive.
Maybe the co worker confused you with another customer from that day. You all do look alike you know.

Depending on how hard you're going to push this, you might want to see a lawyer about getting the tapes released to you before they get taped over or mysteriously lost.
