OK, so I thought the Russians came out bad against Canada. Holy f'ucking sh;t. Kipper pulled himself @ 10:00 in the first at 4-0. Backs comes in cold and gives up 2 in 15 seconds @7:00.

Someone call an ambulance, because Finland just died.

I did not expect you guys to get an easy game. I'm not watching it though, so I can't make much comment. Is the US having an amazing game, or are the fins just folding? From your comment I'm guessing Finland is folding.

Oh, and I'll take the opportunity to go woot! Women's gold!

Kipper got beat early and didn't recover. The rest of the Finnish team isn't exactly laying down, but at this point I think some fatalism is setting in.

First Russia then Sweden and now Finland. Looks like the top teams are beating themselves. Hopefully we can have a good final... unless Canada collapse against Slovakia tonight.

That Kane fellow is pretty good. He should really be Canadian.

Wow, just turned on the game after getting home. CRAZY score.

I thought Finland would have given you more of a run. Has Miller been amazing again?

Well, at least they stopped letting the US score, although how much of that is the US conserving energy is anyone's guess, they haven't managed to answer.

Damn. There goes the shutout.

Nice nod to Thomas getting 10 between the pipes. It's not too shabby a thing to be able to tell the grand kids about.

Miller was good, but he wasn't tested. Maybe 3 good chances through 2 and a half. The no goals after 1 has been more of a not much pressure thing than anything else, the third especially. They're being opportunistic with their chances, but there's no reason to get too aggressive in the ends or around the crease because no one wants to get hurt before Sunday.

Too much testosterone for Kao, had to do a quick geek off to lower the levels a bit. ;)

I'm not sure Canada would welcome his extra-curricular activities.

Canada almost blew it today, too. The game was about three inches' worth of Slovakia not choking from OT. Instead... Canada 3, Slovakia 2, and we get a rematch that's probably not going to be as close as it sounds (well, unless the US somehow comes out of the gate and pounds Canada 12-2 or something like that).

Predictions:

Gold medal game: US 5, Canada 2
Bronze medal game: Slovakia 7, Finland 1

The dreamer in me says 3-2 U.S. in a shootout, with Crosby stoned by Miller.

The not drunk me say 4-2 Canada on an open netter with 24 seconds left.

Your Crosby-hate cracks me up a little. I imagine you'd really quite like to see him stoned by Miller.

I'm hopeful but not holding my breath for Sunday. The Canadians still didn't look "great" tonight. Still, should be a good game with lots of rivalry and that's what it's all aboot.

You'd think team Canada would be full of rage over that early loss, dreaming of crushing the skulls of their USA foes, driving them before them, laughing at the lamentations of their women while they carve CANADA in children's back with their skates.

Oh wait, they're by definition all Canadian, right?

You'd think team Canada would excited to play against a team that gave them such a good game before, you know? Team USA has a lot going for it, but who knows, maybe Canada will lucky a few time and win the gold, eh? The important thing is that everyone enjoys hockey at it's higher level played on the world stage.
