I tend to think the voting public should be limited to people who don't receive welfare/food stamps, can name the current president and vp, and know how many branches there are in the govn. That's pretty much it.

So just make a Ballot paper cost $250.

Sorted.

Guaranteed Pubby/Elitist status quo.

Taking your point further, for 480 years or so, the only English people entitled to vote were men who owned land and had servants.

And that's how we became dominators of the known world, and earned the rest of the world's hatred.

Ring any bells?

Anna,

First of all voting is a privilege not a right.

Second I wouldn't want someone who doesn't know who they are determining who our leaders will be.

Third If you can't support yourself then you shouldn't have a say in how tax dollars are spent. When this happens you get what we're seeing now; a bunch of welfare morons determining who will be elected and they typically support the candidate that offers to increase their govn cheese.

Fourth if you can't name the current president and vp then you shouldn't be able to pick the next ones.

I'm curious Anna; are you that afraid of an informed able populace choosing who their leaders are going to be?

Voting is not a privilege. I also think you fail as a Christian.

Are you afraid that poor people might vote for their own self-interest?

Likewise. Remember when I said you should stop speaking as though you know anything about politics?

Yeah. That.

The top dog is always hated by everyone else. That's why so many countries, including the UK, hate the US. We're the top dog and they know it and resent us for it. I'd rather be wealthy and hated than poor and loved.

Oh you silly, silly man.

During the 1960s and 70s, UK's greatest mistake was thinking it was still in charge, while gradually becoming USA's *****.

I hope you're fluent in Mandarin, Brasilian Portuguese or Hindi, 'cause you are already the puppet of China, Brasil and India. You're just iun denial.

Yes it is. Voting was never meant to be a right despite what your liberal indoctrinators taught you.

No i'm afraid poor people will vote to have the govn steal from the achievers to support their pathetic existence. Of course you being the failure that you are I can understand why you want as many uneducated retards voting for whoever promises them the most.

There are are other things to vote on than the spending of taxes.

Judges, do we have a whoosh here?

(horn noise)

Yep, we do!

Now, do we really want to derail this thread into a discussion of how you're not qualified to speak on religion, or can we continue with the current discussion of how you're not qualified to speak on politics?

Because you are eager to deprive classes of people of their right to vote, all because you are afraid that your will is not the same as the will of the majority. You should move to a country without a representative government. You'd probably feel safer.

According to Varus, I don't have the right to vote.

My husband was working a dead end job that didn't pay enough to feed him, myself, or my daughter. We applied and were approved for food stamps. His job didn't provide health insurance, so when I got pregnant with my second child, we qualified for medicaid. Of course if his job offered health insurance, we would have taken it. Just yesterday, my husband lost his job. He is currently looking for another one. Hopefully, it will pay enough to allow us to be off food stamps and will also offer health insurance.

According to Varus, I am a leech off those that work hard. According to real human beings, I am just someone who is down on their luck.

Make no mistake, both my husband and I are working hard to try and change our situation.

Also, you disgust me Varus.

What qualifies you?

Oh that's right you think anyone who doesn't bow down to your liberal ideology must be "stupid".

First, the irritating part: not a liberal, fuckstick. It's entirely possible to dislike you - and, for that matter, most Republicans - without being liberal.

As far as "what qualifies me to speak on religion": a larger base of religious knowledge than yours, and more willingness to follow all of it, not just the parts that sound good. (Really, I find it hilarious that you condemn people for immoral lifestyles when you're an admitted, and proud of it, fornicator yourself.)

Politics... I never said I was qualified to talk about that; I just agree with several other people (including, probably, gbaji) that you aren't.

---

On another, and entirely unrelated, note (other than that it is directed at Varus): what would your reaction be to a religious group attempting to secede from the country? (If what religion it is actually matters to you, let's just say Catholics for the purposes of this question.)
