I hope it takes less than seven days.

Now that We have that out of the way, how are you sir?

Oh I so want to dive my face into that and eat. I've missed you Bodhi, and your ironic blue Buddha avvie.

Y'all don't remember hating Railus? At or around the time of The Great Divide / Sanctuary? I remember he/she/it did something that pissed us off, although I'll be damned if I can remember what.
#59 Feb 08 2010 at 11:07 AM Rating: Excellent
Was he the one with the wife/gf that was a cnut with admin status?

I recalled the Great Divide being a reaction to another of Kao's invites to the common people to join us. Of course, my memory is rather fuzzy 4 years on.

I don't, but in all honesty I'd pretty much stopped paying attention. That was not my favorite era.

Here's a great question (or, rather, one that I have, hence great in my mind): is anyone actually playing anything at the moment, or have you all moved on to life in the real world?

I never played anything and aside from sporadically dressing up/starving my unimoose in Pet Society, it's still the case.

Playing EQ2 a bit. I have Star Trek Online because I promised a friend I'd try it, but so far I haven't even installed it.

Ok, apperently this needs to be said again. You do not get to state, hint imply or otherwise allude that myself or any of my administratve staff are ped0philes. Doing so gets you banned. Simple rule, simple enough that anyone should be able to follow it. No more second chances. Either follow it or don't. I really don't care anymore. This is not a difficult concept, and this is not a grey area I am willing to tolerate in any way shape or form. Any questions, please PM me.

Could that be stated at the top of the forum, under a "Things that WILL get you banned in the Asylum" sticky? While I understand that some things should be off-limits and that you have discretion, it would help to have them listed so we can know where to draw the line.

Moe was a great poster, and I can't help but think this is a loss that could have been avoided.

I second this. It honestly seems like an obscure place to all of a sudden draw a hard line. I'm aware it's a sore spot with you(kaolian), and people who've been posting regularly would too, but Moe hasn't been around lately. I can't speak to when he was, as I wasn't around much if at all at that point.

Not even Usagi?

Usagi has been tolerated (perhaps even admired) all this time because as far as anyone knows he is a man under his own control. As far as anyone here knows, he has never done anything illegal. Some of us have had more extensive contact with him than just seeing his posts on the forums.

It's the very important drawn line between a "thought crime", and a "physical crime". Rejecting someone who has "outré thoughts" from a community is only going to put them under more stress and loneliness, and make it more likely for them to give in to impulses, and more likely to seek love and attention elsewhere.

Tsukinomahou demonstrated he was fuzzy on where the acceptable line of behaviour for a public forum was. Usagi has demonstrated he knows where it is. The same way it is not helpful for recovering alcoholics to be around people drinking or speaking of alcohol, or people quitting cigarettes to be around other people smoking or talking about smoking, it's not very helpful to bring up other "Impulse" behaviour around people with other problematic addictions.
