I've "gone" much faster than that. But it was lunch hour on a relatively busy street. It's a wide and straight street (3 lanes each way with center divider), but I only had so much block length to play with. The cops typically wont bother to go after you for briefly flooring it on a 50mph stretch of road. If you continue to accelerate through another block, or blow past a second group of cars, they tend to get upset with you...

I've never met a pontiac with sufficient leg room. I keep wanting to unbolt the seats for the three at other work and move them back about a foot.
