Still being pushed back into the seat as you hit 70 and then decide to let off the gas cause you don't really want a ticket on your first day is fun as hell...
Pfft, even I've gone at least 90.
This changes after you've been pulled over.
Just get on the freeway during some light traffic (or no traffic) and hit it. You'll rarely get in trouble.
I did find myself almost in trouble when I went to South Carolina for a while and the freeways around the Myrtle Beach area were all 55. I was so used to it being 70, and being allowed to do 80 without issue.
Edited, Jan 29th 2010 8:02pm by TirithRRIt's generally best not to do really fast speeding while you're in a more populated area because unless you have incredibly keen senses, you're bound to miss something and after a certain speed cops are not going to be happy to let you off.
For cross-country travel, though, I usually average around 75-80 because I'm impatient and I hate staring at the road. The fastest I've ever gone for an extended period was 100 mph for an hour, because I was hundreds of miles away from school and I was going to be damned if I was missing class.
