Here is a late TGIFF thread!
Whacha got going on this weekend? Anything fun?

Tomorrow is a little housecleaning, followed by some dump trips (we're starting to clear out anything not necessary for our upcoming move in a couple of months). The MR is taking the two older kids to a Monster Truck show, Ashes first. I'll take advantage of having the house almost to myself by hopefully getting the baby to nap and I'll follow suit. Sunday I think we're visiting friends but thats still up in the air. Other than that I'll just try and get a blog or two in. I've been a little lax this week.
#2REDACTED, Posted: Jan 22 2010 at 2:43 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If it's 60 and sunny here, like it's supposed to be, I plan on spending it working on the greenhouse, splitting wood, jogging with the dogs, and playing pick-up at college park. Then i'll review a business plan for the agency i'm considering buying in the next couple of months sat night and sunday.

Painting is the project for the weekend. The area over the manel tileing that I screwed up, some of the crown moulding that needs touched up, etc. Other than that, probably a book store run at some point, then very little else!

Hopefully I'll win a bet tonight when my Oilers win.
The rest of the weekend will be unevenly divided between debauchery and not debauchery.

Really depends on the rain in this area. But I imagine house clean up and yard clean up for the most part all this weekend. I have to take some work home as well so I'll be remoting into the office.

Catch up with some shows on the DVR. USA network is ramping up my favorite shows. I heart Burn Notice, White Collar and Psych.

My main goal is to figure out why my dishwasher no longer works. Other then that it's relaxation. It is rather warm here, only -10 or so, so maybe I'll fire up the smoker and make some pulled pork

I just finished getting my old monitor hooked up as a secondary monitor for my new PC, now I'm nearly done installing WoW, and I'm ready to slip into a gamers coma for the rest of the weekend.

Leo may rouse me on Sunday in order to go see Legion, so I don't imagine I'll be outside again from now till then.

Bwahhhhhaaaahhaaaa! Are they playing Toronto or Carolina? Har har har.

Ahem, DSD, I am not "lax" in my duties. I'm bloody well busy today! Hectic day, followed by a pretty busy weekend. The bathroom remodel continues. I'm off out shopping tomorrow and I'm cooking a fancy dinner for Mr. Tare tomorrow night. Sciatica is feeling better (PLEASE, be gone!) so I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend.

Running CAT5e cable through the attic because I'm tired of crappy wireless signals. Also working. Also seeing Avatar at the IMAX. Also, committing suicide when I realize I can't live in Pandora 'cause I hear that's the fashion.

Anna,

Don't you get the syllabus well before classes begin so you can read all the books before you get to class?

No. And really, even if I did, no one does that. I have to read like 2 or 3 books and several articles every week. I couldn't do that in the three weeks I have between semesters.

I know it's been a while but we used to be encouraged to read everything before showing up at class.

Yeah, but we aren't. Some of the reading is about methodology and it wouldn't make much sense for me to read it far ahead of time since so much of it is based on classroom learning and then advancing to the next thing. Also, there is too much reading to do it ahead of time. Doctorate level work, in my experience, is a totally different beast than Master's Level work.

How many runs are you going to be fishing? Are you planning on setting up a full house network with punch down blocks and everything?

I've finished the downstairs runs to what will eventually be the server room, but I haven't ran the upstairs cables yet. I'll be running a fiber cable to the main computer area and seperate runs for speakers to each of the upstairs rooms as well when I get around to it.

I haven't started yet mainly because i'm worrried about the whole "Kao falls through the ceiling plaster, thus destroyign another house" possibility. That and it's cold up there!

Been toying with the idea of running water lines and electrical conduit to the roof to support an eventual solar panel installation someday.

Sadly, they're playing Dallas. I have a bet going on the season series and if they win tonight they'll have won 3/4 which will bag me an delicious iced cream cake.

Apparently, they make some decent wine in Buck's County, PA. It's pretty good. I like it. And that's all that really matters.
