You left? Where'd you go?

Meh, in any case my comment would be roughly about the same: Take care, don't get the clap.

Totem,

So I take it you're not flying relief to Haiti.

Yes, i'm still an as*hole.

Actually, you're an idiot. An ******* behaves despicably out of spite, an idiot does them out of ignorance.

Luck? You should know by now that everything I do is a calculated ploy to keep the rabid liberals posting here instead of making a difference in the real world.

Ok, I've got a question, but first you need to put on our tin foil hats. Have any of you ever heard of something called a "singularity bomb" outside of science fiction? There's a rumor out there that DARPA or some other skunky outfit is or has developed a weapon that-- Poof! --makes your target disappear. Not vaporized like a micro-nuke or blown/burnt up like a fuel-air bomb, but literally gone, leaving a smooth crater that looks like a bowl. The story goes we are able to make itsy-bitsy black holes that are very limited in size and scope and deliver them to targets with ease.

Yeah. I know, I'm talking like there actually is something out there that does this and leaves no radiation, no <Kaboom!>, no fire, no nothing. Just instant gone-ness. According to the rumor (and as far as I am concerned it is just that since I haven't seen any such evidence) the device is scalable, meaning it can be made larger or smaller depending on the target. No word on the delivery system, but the supposition is it is an aircraft that drops it onto its' destination.

I'd never heard of any such device, but the ramifications are earthshaking if it is true. It'd a weapon that other than the actual moment of delivery would be completely superior to anything else on the battlefield. There is supposedly little to no collateral damage, no lasting effects to the environment, and no signature sound or sight to alert people in the area that something just happened to something/someone nearby.

Weirdness. Ok, take off your tinfoil headgear now. Kao, have you heard of anything like this?

Yes. It's not a black hole bomb.

Yes you've heard of it? Because if you have, what is it giving that nice neat vaporisation without much signature of anything much?

Going on the record just to say that if/when something like a singularity bomb is created (currently - No Way) we won't be hearing about it from Totem.

You might be thinking of the Neutron bomb. Almost no explosion, but it emits a massive and fairly widespread burst of high intensity Gamma radiation in the target area. Instantly lethal to anything not inisde some fairly massive shielding, would also knock out most electronics, but would not damage structures, and doesn't leave a long term radiation hazard. Background radiation levels reportedly return to near normal within a week or so. Hallmarks of the detonation are a relitivly small glassed crater.

France tested one at mururora back in the 80's. we had 3 operational models, the W66, W70 and W79 warheads. Which were all eliminated under SALT terms by 2003. The soviets also had a bunch, supposedly they also dismanteled their own. China is reportedly in posession of a design for them, but has not reportedly tested any.

Haven't heard rumors of any black hole bombs recently. I doubt we have sufficient technology to contain one at this point, and the problem with a black hole weapon is that black holes only get bigger. they don't stop eating things until your planet is pretty much a speck of neutronium near as we can tell so far.

An antimatter weapon might do the trick, but even CERN can't turn out much of that, and something on the scale of the hadron collider is just to big to hide from the public.

I alway pictured Totem as a mercenary. Something like Robert Downey Jr in that ****** move where he was "black". Though, in reality, he's more like Mel Gibson in Air America sans the Asian wife.

Actually, he's really more like RDJ in Air America.
