This is the key difference between Democrats and Republicans. Democrats think they should be entitled to everything; from food, shelter, and healthcare to seats in congress. Republicans believe you should work for what you get.

Who would have thought the race for Kennedys seat would be so close.

Actually, I'm glad the one PPP outlier showed Brown up by 1 point. It kicked the Dems into action, and there's now a massive national campaign to make sure that seat stays Democrat.

Unlike the Republicans, the Democrats shot down the "win by losing" fringe progressives who wanted to teach the DCCC a lesson by letting the Republicans win. The phrase kicking around is "Dems don't Scozzafozza Dems."

No, it says what a mediocre candidate Coakley is. All politics is local, remember that. The people of Massachusetts already HAVE their own healthcare system, because of then-governor Republican Mitt Romney.

Local elections are often a mandate on national politics.

Only when Republicans win though, right?

I would have thought Republicans would have actually tried to help Brown win this race, but they were too busy not working on the healthcare bill to notice.

All the huffing & puffing took too much out of them.

Remember, varus has already admitted to not being able to read. How was he to know?

It's hard to imagine a less inspiring candidate than either Coakley or Brown.
I caught the last part of the debate the other night and all either of them could do was hurl pre-recorded sound bytes at each other like robots; there was no real debate going on at all.

That said, I'll be voting for Coakley on principle. If she loses, though, she'll only have herself to blame for running such a lackluster campaign.
