Once again the AV Club's "Better late than never" feature caught my eye.

The writer had never seen "It's a Wonderful Life" until recently. She figured if it were THAT good someone would have shamed her into it by now. Smiley: laugh

What movie(s) have you not seen that everyone else on Earth has apparently seen? What books have you not read? What have you not done that everyone else seems to have done?

I'll start.

Movie: I've never seen Titanic. I've never seen Rocky. I'll probably think of more later.

Books: I've never read The Da Vinci Code, in spite of having received it as a gift ages ago.

Other stuff: I've never been to Disneyland.

When the Oscars role around, I find that I've not seen most of the pics that are up for awards. I did finally see Slumdog Millionaire. In other words, lots of famous movies unseen.

I've never read War and Peace nor have I, yet, jumped from a plane - this bugs me.

I think you should jump from a plane while reading War and Peace. Decide about the rip cord on the way down.

The list of movies I haven't seen that I should is so extensive that it is pathetic. We need a Netflix account. The one that bugs BT the most is that I've never seen any of the Back to the Future movies. I've also never seen It's a Wonderful Life. It was within the past two years that I was finally forced to watch all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies. I also fell asleep (passed out?) halfway through Dark Knight and have yet to finish it.

There are plenty of books that I haven't read that I should.

I haven't been horseback riding except once when I was about 4 years old. That makes me sad. :(

I've never seen any of the Lord of the Rings movies. I keep meaning to but never enough to justify the time expense.

Come to think of it, I've never read any Tolkien beyond The Hobbit when I was in 5th or 6th grade.

Edit: Both my Seen/Done were too close to SirElephant's so I'm changing my "Done".

I've never sent a text message, much less a "Tweet".

Movies: Never seen Gone with the wind or A wonderful Life or Christmas on 34th Street for that matter.

Read: Never Read any of the Twilight books, or LOTR's books (I've only seen 1 of the movies)

Done: I've never smoked pot or done any other drug.(except Alcohol and Cigs) Not that I didn't want to, just never had access to it and didn't run in those crowds in school. Now I have no urge to because I figure I've gone this long, I'm not missing anything.

I've never been out of the country. I've never read a Stephen King novel, nor do I intend to. I refuse to watch Slumdog Millionaire.

That was one of our major 10th grade English class assignments, and I couldn't even finish the CLIFF NOTES of that goddamned book.

Actually, The Hangover was a lot funnier than I thought it would be. I thought it was going to be pretty lame, but it has a much more driving storyline than you'd expect from the title.

She's read Firestarter, so, yeah.

Don't trust Ash. The Hangover was not that funny. I'm not even sure why it was hyped so much, because there weren't even original gags in it. It was pedestrian.

Anyway, I've never seen an authentic snuff movie.

Never read an entire gbaji post.

Never really had intercourse with any farm animals.

I read Firestarter and liked it. Of course, I was around 13 at the time. Shit, at thirteen, I thought Piers Anthony was worth reading.

Lots of stuff I never have and should. I never read any of the classic early American literature. I got a free Audible book for the holidays so I picked The Great Gatsby but haven't even fired it up yet.

I'll admit Firestarter is the only one I've read in its entirety. I found it in a highschool classroom and, needing a book for a report, I choked it down. After that, he voice and style just grated on my nerves.

Other than a couple of his other books, the only other book that I could not finish was Catch 22. God, that book was torturous to read.

I've never seen any of the Back to the Future series, despite going on the ride at universal studios. I can kinda of guess the plot from all of the shows I have seen do gags from it though.

I have never read any of the twilight books, or watched any of the movies, and I plan to keep it that way.

I've never truly been elbow deep, but me and a small mexican woman with slender hands are working on it when I get back into New Mexico in about two weeks.

Hmm...

I've never seen Jurassic Park or any of the sequels.

I've never read a lot of old classics that I wish I had.

Despite having lived in Michigan for the first ten years of my life, I've never been to Canada. Though we may go to Niagra Falls next year with some friends of ours.

Well, at least you know not to take their advice on which book to read now. That's like a gift.
