Ok, but it still makes a compelling story. Sell your complaints to Hollywood. Don't blame democrats for Hollywood's issues.

Democrats and Hollywood have a symbiotic relationship. What's compelling about the story? Evil company attempts to take land from peaceful indigenous peoples who find a leader in a traitor to the corporation. With the help of said leader they beat the evil company and force them to leave. Sound about right? Now what is compelling, or original for that matter, about this story?

EVERY review I've seen has said the same thing: It's Dances with Wolves (in Space!). The story is just a new twist on the other movie's plot. And know what? NO ONE is saying jack about the story, because the compelling part of the movie is the amazing graphics.

Jesus, you'd think you went to see a Michael Moore film. The only person who said it isn't original is you... because no one else was arguing that. Nice strawman, slick!

Okay, give an example of this happening. Bear in mind, there has to be some dramatic tension to make it a compelling story.

Varrus is actually right, in a way. I don't agree that the primary goal of the movie was to promote a viewpoint, but I do agree that if a movie has a viewpoint, that wasn't accidental. I mean, at the very least, it's the views of the writer coming through in the storyline. That's a point that shouldn't be argued against, even if it's varrus making it.

I haven't seen it yet, but the little I've heard also reminds me of On Deadly Ground.

The message of the movie is basically you shouldn't exploit people. Are you against that message Varrus?

No it's naive to think this movie doesn't have a political agenda. What with all the nonsense about global warming and copenhagen I'm sure it's just coincidence <end sarcasm>.

yes, how dare they have a discussion on global warming! they should have known this movie was coming out and waited!

Varrus is right in the same way that his sentences make sense because they can be strung together correctly. He's wrong in the same way that thinking his sentences are accurate is the truth.

I'm against anything in which the phrase "mother planet(or earth)" is used.
You should start saying "I'm agin it." Could you please start saying "I'm agin it?"

In fact weren't the natives exploiting nature for their own benefit?
Exploiting nature and exploiting people are the same thing?

How were the natives exploited in this movie? They were asked to leave. They didn't so the military tried to make them. What gave the natives the right to claim ownership over the place they called home? Is this determined by the first come first served rule? Or is it determined by who's going to treat the environment best? And how does one determine what's the best way to treat the environment?

So many questions.
So you're saying the natives didn't have any right to live where they lived and should just have packed up and left because the new people had big guns?

Clearly The Labyrinth was drawing connections with child labor/Kathy Lee Gifford and Bowie's goblin minions. Those poor, poor cannon goblins.

So if an advanced foreign power came to your home and tried to take it over, you would be ok with it? They wouldn't have to recognize any sort of ownership rights you have simply because they have bigger guns than you do. Doesn't it sound a bit like bullying on a more epic scale?
