What a f*cking horrible movie. What a waste of 3hrs. Had I not been the guest of a friend I would have walked out of this piece of sh*t.

This movie is like a captain planet episode on steroids with a lot of pretty colours. Mother earth my ***.

Too liberal for you, eh?

Okay, give an example of this happening. Bear in mind, there has to be some dramatic tension to make it a compelling story.

I don't watch movies anyway. I don't watch television. I inculcate myself away from pop culture, primarily for financial reasons, but also because I think most modern programming is ******.

So you can blame a lot of things for the way I think, but the last thing you can blame is liberal media.

I don't watch TV either. I do see the occasional movie, but I haven't seen Avatar yet. If I do see it, I'll mostly be interested in the effects anyway. Movies based on games tend to be a little simplistic.

For the record, in "Where The Heart Is," Wal-Mart helped Natalie Portman's character out a bit. Gave her some money, and a job, and let her transfer when she wanted to. They even got married there.

Regardless, even if he gives an example, it won't matter much. The thing about movies is that they are designed to entertain people, not corporations. And people relate better to other people, not corporations. Ergo, movies tend to focus more on people, not corporations.

Wait, wait, wait.

This is based on a game...?

Dude, it's just a flashier version of Dances with Wolves (in Space!).

Which, you know, won tons of awards.

No more propaganda now than it was in 1990. Too bad you don't like good movies. No idea if Avatar is good; I'll be seeing it next week in 3-D!

No, the game is based on the movie, not the other way around.

Crappy games are always made off of blockbusters. They seldom do well.

I understand this. I'm not saying the focus has to be on corporations. I am saying you don't have to attack corporations in order to sell the message that you shouldn't f*ck up the environment (I still don't believe in man-made global warming).

I think it's a game based on the movie.

Ok, but it still makes a compelling story. Sell your complaints to Hollywood. Don't blame democrats for Hollywood's issues. I swear, you can't talk about ANYTHING without it being polarized between liberals and conservatives.

Yeah, it's a movie.

Otherwise the guys using bows would be utterly outclassed by the the guys with high caliber assault weapons, Mech suits, tactical missile systems and genetic macro-engineering.

Democrats and Hollywood have a symbiotic relationship. What's compelling about the story? Evil company attempts to take land from peaceful indigenous peoples who find a leader in a traitor to the corporation. With the help of said leader they beat the evil company and force them to leave. Sound about right? Now what is compelling, or original for that matter, about this story?

Cat,

The acting was bad. The story was absurd. This was nothing more than a propaganda piece designed to influence the views of the millions of children that will undoubtedly be in awe due to the special effects and to ignorant to realize what they're watching. Films like this are why so many of you are anti-business. You never see movies about corporations helping the community and the people who reside in it. I should have just said no when asked to go.
You're kidding right?

It's a movie. It purpose is entertainment and to make the movie company a pile of money. You are sicker than you or I thought if you truly believe this to be a piece of propaganda.

I didn't go see it yesterday as I couldn't get the afternoon off from work as anticipated. Hopefully, this weekend.... I've heard the new fangled filming, that produces the 3-d immersion, alone is worth the cost of a ticket.

The little guy wins. That's always compelling.

No one said it had to be original.
