To start with - email from Her Majesty's Chief Knobheads at 5pm on Friday calls for about 20-30 hrs work with a deadline of tomorrow morning. Add a chest infection and high temperature, and I lost all of Saturday, Sunday and half of today to shivering in bed.

So by tomorrow morning I hav another 8-10 hrs work on this, as well as catch up on what I was supposed to be doing today anyway.

Add in my Xmas Shopping this weekend being written off by sickness and work deadlines. . .

Oh, and our plan for a quiet Christmas day, just the two of us, somehow includes her son, parents, sister & niece. Cooking for 7 including 2 vegetarians, 1 vgan, and 1 glucose intolerant.

I fUcking Haet You Christmas!

I'm of the opinion that Christmas should only come once every ten years. It would give me more time to get in the right frame of mind to deal with it.

Does this mean no Christmas Story for the Asylum this year - because I think it was my year to star in it.

You can mail x-mas cards only once every 4 years and not drop off anyone else's x-mas card list (I experimented).

I almost canceled Jonwin and my plans for the 25th due to his family this year. For years, we would have to rush from his brother's house to my family's Christmas Dinner because the one year we didn't, all the Prime rib was gone when we got there late.

Now that my parents are no longer with us, and siblings have grandkids too, we planned to only spend time with 2 of my 3 girls and their spouses and 2 grandkids. So to make things less stressful and rushed, last year I decided we would have brunch with my family and then go to Jonwin's in the afternoon.

That would have been this years plan too, but then his big sister decided since Jonwin's brother had everyone over for Thanksgiving, she would have brunch on Christmas.

I could live with that and have dinner at my daughter's, but then I'm told brunch will be at his kid brother's and my girls may no longer be invited to attend since Jonwin mom was told not to invite a friend who has no lone else to spend the day with.

One call later, it turns out my girls are still invited to have brunch and we will have plenty of time to cook our rib roast. and spoil my grandchildren.

Other daughter lives in S.C. and we hope to visit her in February, when we will also get to meet the future step grand children. She tries to come visit here once a year, but with saving for a house isn't sure when they will come up in 2010.

We're not doing anything much at all this year. My daughter is not going to be home for the first time ever. We're not doing the usual visit with my sis-in-law and family until Saturday because of their schedule.

...then the weather is predicting snow followed by rain.

Anyway, I'm done with my christmas stuff.

I cooked up and individually wrapped about 6 dozen caramels (they were awesome) and baked two kinds of biscotti (it travels well) then shipped it all over the country.

Hope you pull through the sicklies quickly Nobby - LOTS of sleep is the best.
