Avatar comes out today and there are some other Holiday biggies - Up In The Air, Disney's A Christmas Carol, Nine....

I've got a date to go see Avatar next Tuesday afternoon with my son. I'm kinda looking forward to it. I've not decided yet if we should make the hour-long drive down to the Imax or just see it at a local theater.

I was a bit skeptical about Avatar, but the reviews are all pretty positive, so I might give that a go, but not this weekend. I hate crowds.

I want to see The Road but I'm not sure my love for Viggo can overshadow my love for this book and I've heard the movie doesn't measure up. :(

Tempted to go to a late showing of The Princess and the Frog.

Tempted, but I probably won't cave into temptation, because our budget for January is looking scary (because of house-purchasing.)

The Lovely Bones has also just come out on the big screen. I'll probably skip over it in favor of the written story.

edit to add - Viggo is kinda girly.

I'd really like to see Avatar but we just don't have the money to spare.

I saw Princess and the Frog today.

It was really, really good...I am really pleased by it.

It's a good little kid film, but adult enough to keep parents entertained as well.

"9" is a really really good film. Its ending is a bit weak, the mechanics of it should have been a little different, to make sense, as far as I'm concerned, but it's well worth watching despite that. The animation is superb, especially in the characterisation and movement of the little hybrid doll-like humanoids. 95% of the film is a joy to watch, your heart will be totally captured by the characters.

The child actor in "Where the wild things are" was utterly superb. His character of Max was as real as real can be. The scriptwriter and director obviously had fun fleshing out the story and turning it into a parable examination of this young boy's emotions, motivations, aspects, and relationships with family members. The people I saw it with said they wouldn't take young kids to see the movie, it would be too scary.

Going to see Avatar asap.

Just saw Up in the Air recently. It was both disappointing, and better than I expected. Clooney was great but I thought one of the resolutions was a bit cheap.

Worth seeing, but I can't see why it got all those nominations.

I'll probably see Crazy Heart at some point, and Avatar just because it looks like it'll be visually interesting.
