It just looks too fake to be real. But who knows? Maybe CERN's cranking up their lazors.
From the top video on the page it's pretty clearly a missle that spun out of control. The blue light was probably a spot light. I find it odd that whoever did it is hoping people are too stupid to figure it out and won't come clean already.

My impression is that it could be a rocket event where fuel or other material is being vented and catching the high altitude sunlight. if the vehicle is spinning while doing so that would account for the growing spiral structure. The central parts of comets have the same spiral appearance for the very same reason.

The Rachel Maddow show just picked up the story, but I only caught the end of it, where they were talking about UFOs of course.
Funny coincidence, I'm going to Northern Norway, like inside the Arctic Circle, for Christmas. Part of the reason is to see the Northern Lights.

I'm guessing that the videos just couldn't pick up as much detail. Consumer video recorders are much less clear than consumer cameras, especially at that distance, and at night. Aperture settings and shutter speeds and all.
