Facebook is the one site blocked from work. Apparently, me spending 10 years on this forum is okay but you let the steno pool start typing status updates and all hell breaks loose.

It's actually on the Onion site, I just copied the link from FB instead of the site itself, not realizing it had that crap on there. Again, mea culpa, and fixed.

Everytime I tell my 2yr old not to do soemthing, she yells at me in baby gibberish. When I tell her again not to do it, she laughs and apologizes.

Does this count?

It's subtle form of mind control.

Hah! That reminds me of a thought I had last week. I was watching TV, and there was some commercial. I'm sure it was for some charity or other, but I don't honestly remember. What struck me was some verbiage in the commercial itself.

You know how we often say and repeat platitudes? They're often completely wrong, but we say them anyway and often (maybe) forget for awhile that they are wrong? This was one of them. The commercial starts off with some kids playing together. Then it says something like "Children love to share". Then I'm sure it went on to make some broader point, but that one sentence just kinda stopped me for a moment. I couldn't help but instantly think "No they don't!".

Let's be honest. We teach them to do all the "nice" things we think they should do, but they absolutely don't start out that way. And if they had their way, they'd be total hellions.

Dunno. Just thought that one should win the "worst false premise award" or something...

Of course they do. They want to share the toy that the other kid is playing with.

I think someone confused "sociopath" and "socialist" again.
