Going to Target and getting a flat screen TV for 250 to replace the one that got stolen from me.
As to PS3 and XBOX360...I'm going to go ahead and assume we're not talking about a backwards compatible PS3.
The games on both are often similar. The next two Final Fantasy games coming out are coming out for both the 360 and the PS3, so that shouldn't be a factor in the decision making for you. When it comes down to the difference between the two, one big factor is the online play. If you are into online playing, the 360 has a more populous online crowd over the PS3.
Graphics wise, the 360 is outdone by the PS3, but you can't tell for most games unless you're running 1080p, since the gaming companies don't often make the biggest attempts for big graphical differences between the two.
At this point in time, I'd say that the 360 has the edge on RPGs. The ones that are console specific are few and far between (that actually don't suck) for the PS3 atm, while you have a few more options for the 360.
However, in terms of future potential...I think the PS3 has it for RPGs.
360 does shooting games better. Period. If you are into sports, imo it's a toss up if you aren't counting online play as a big part in the decision making.
In terms of customer service...
I have had to get a PS3 and a 360 both repaired, and my experience with Microsoft was much better than the one I had with Sony. The 360 does break down easier, though.
Accessories for the two are about the same in cost, really.
The Blu-Ray is a factor that clearly favors the PS3, but again, if you aren't having a 1080i/p TV...then there's no real point to it over DVDs at this time.
