In this thread, we see knee-jerk bigotry come back and bite stupid reactionary people on the ***.

The 2005 Texas constitutional amendment that banned gay marriage may have effectively outlawed ALL marriage in Texas.

Karma: still working as intended.

They were so intent on smothering any possibly claim to "institutions equal to marriage" that in trying to outlaw civil unions, they outlawed marriage itself too. Priceless.

Would this not nullify all divorces since 2005 too as you can't end that which you don't recognize?

I have to wonder. If we send a sincere enough letter of apology to Mexico, would they take Texas back?

Then where would you get your domestic oil?

I mean besides an ecological reserve.

The article is hilarious of course, but they're not creating any legal status it's already created.

They can't recognize it either. Hence the humor.

Get out of the 1960's. It's all about offshore and shale deposits these days!

I just keep thinking it's Jamie from Mythbusters, which I'm pretty sure it's not.

No, we refuse to drill in them because there's the possibility we might actually find oil.

We'd put our anime pictures in our signatures instead, but as I recall, someone ruined that for us.

To be fair, you know how excessive anime signatures can get.

Hey, if Texas keeps all marriage illegal, I'll be pleased as punch. Bastards will probably change it, though.

Wow. How the hell did that manage to get past at least one competent lawmaker's radar?

O wait, I just answered my own question.

So, does this make Texas a bit more progressive now that hetero's and gay's have equality with marriage?
