Yes, it's that special day again! Whatcha got?

Kids are due for flu shots tomorrow, fun fun! We are cleaning Mr. Tare's car up to sell it - minivan here we come! Enjoying the warm weather after Ida's visit this week. What a mess the yard is.

I just logged into Kingdom of Loathing and realized it was Friday the 13th. Oh, let the good luck reign!

Actually, so far the day is going pretty well. I'm almost completely caught up with stuff at work, so I'm not too stressed. I wore a good new outfit today and got some compliments on it. It was a cold bike ride in, but it should be around 70 when I bike home again.

It seems like tomorrow will be my unlucky day. For the past couple of weeks I've been hanging out with my ex, totally as friends. At least, as I found out yesterday, I thought it was totally as friends. Turns out she's interested in me again. The problem is I don't want to date her. One heartbreak was enough, and truth be told I simply don't feel as strongly for her now as I did before. The thing is that I still enjoy hanging out with her, and we've made plans for a movie on Saturday (probably 2012). After I offered to give her a massage. I can see this turning bad really quickly... but I'm still going forward with it. Ick, I really don't learn sometimes. Not to mention there's a girl I'm interested in... but she's in MA and the odds we will date are like slim to none. Sigh.

On Sunday I'll probably go visit my parents and hopefully see a physical trainer about some ab exercise. I've stuck to my diet/workout plan really well so far this week; less than 2000 calories every day and working out for about an hour every day (only did 50 minutes on the treadmill this morning, but I plan to do that last 10 later). Not sure if it'll hold up during the weekend, but we'll see. That's about all for me.

Have a date with the Hubby to watch "UP" tonight.

I think I might sneak out of work a few minutes early to gather up supplies to make some cranberry wine this weekend.

With a holiday-day off in the middle of the week we finished up ALL the fall yard work, and I got a leg up on the housework. So now I feel like I can squander my time this weekend. We should have all Wednesdays off.

In other words, you're hoping she'll turn into your fuck buddy? Honestly, it's a smart move.

Tonight, I'm yoga-ing and poker-ing afterwards.

Tomorrow, playing football, doing some DIY, and then watching Ireland - France in the World Cup Qualifying PLayoff with some friends.

Sunday, go for a walk, possible play some WOW.

Buahaha on the minivan Smiley: lol Misery does indeed, love company!

2 birthday parties on the agenda this weekend. Mr. Ashes friends are turning 3 and it's a reminder that I have to start figuring out his own birthday party in a month (gulp). Also Im going to start a little bit of holiday shopping. I saw some great kids Pirate PJs and I must buy them before they're all gone.

Minivans are chic...specially since they added the second sliding door on the drivers side.

Will it come with a dvd hypnotizer, proximity alarms and ON-STAR?

Oh, you and your European double-meanings. I can't tell if you are serious or not. And honestly, yeah, that's probably what I'm hoping for. The problem is I think she'd get hurt, and I don't want to do that either. Argh.

I was being totally serious and non-sarcrastic. Like, totally. Just like I'm being now. No, really. I wish there was an emoticon to express non-sarcasm. Because the more I go on about it, the more it seems as though I'm being sarcastic. Which I'm not. At all. Really.

Anyway, not sarcrastic.

How hurt? And are you sure that that's not what she wants too?

My advice would be to be as honest as possible about it. As in "We make great friends, and sex is great, but maybe a proper dating-relationahip isn't the best framework for us right now". Except don't use the word "framework", obvisouly. Anyway, there's nothing wrong with fuck-buddies, it's often the natural evolution for relationships that should work but somehow don't, and it should be embraced while both parties are happy about it.

3 day weekend, with the mother in law down. To most, that's a horrible thing, but for us, it's a temporary live in baby sitter as she's only here to see the kids.

Not sure what we're doing this weekend, but it will involve much kid free.

I didn't post about it before, because it made me sad and stuff. But my old cat died recently, full of years and, apparently, cancer.

So anyway. My friend who volunteers at a cat rescue organization emailed me yesterday saying that they've just gotten in a year-old ginger male who is so scared of being in the cage that she's concerned no one will want him. He's really sweet outside the cage, but being on lockdown freaks him out. He's also polydactyl.

So between one thing and another it looks like I'm getting a cat tomorrow.

She also mentioned, quite casually of course, that they have a female Maine **** mix that some idiot declawed and then abandoned. What the hell is wrong with people?

I may end up with two cat. Lord help.

Yeah, I've lived with up to three cats and a dog before, and that was pretty nuts. Two is a good number.

Today is my lucky day! ima go buy a lottery ticket. Still another 200 feet of crown moulding to install, but the chop saw is making that go soo muxh easier. I'd finish the bark dust today too, but it insists on raining about an inch an hour outside at the moment.

Hey Tare, have you coinsidered instead of a minivan, a main battle tank? Sure the fuel milkage would suck, but it would be plenty big and really, really safe!

Had 2 cats growing up. One really smart siamese manx mix, which figured out how to open doors, use doorbells, and the internet, and one dumb as a post white fluffy one that tried to kill me on a regular basis. I kinda miss them, but i'm also somewhat allergic to cats so I stick to catfish now.

I can't imagine a catfish would be a very good pet, unless you have an outdoor pond.

Did I tell the story of one morning when I was walking down to the train, just about dawn, and saw a pelican flying by? It was surprising because it's pretty far inland for them, and I took it as a good omen (not seriously, but it was a definite mood lift).

So a little later at work my friend who lives about a half mile away from me, in the direction the pelican happened to be flying, told me that his neighbor's koi pool keeps getting raided somehow - the fish just mysteriously disappear.

I laughed so hard.

I once saw a Pelican eating a pigeon in St James's Park, and I'm almost 100% sure I wasn't high on shrooms.

Going to be a weekend of splitting wood...working out...going to watch a bud of mine coach his juco kids...cleaning...

p.s. I have two cats the mom is a mouser and watching her teach the one kitten I kept how to kill mice is cool. Seems like every day she's bringing a live mouse in from the forest next to the our field for the kitten to play with. Course I feel bad for the mouse but I'd rather have a cat that catches mice than one that doesn't.

It is cool to watch mom-cat teach the kitten(s). Also, and I guess this also depends on how they were taught, but some cats will ignore birds and focus on ground varmints, and some are the opposite.

I'm sure he does, but if I don't like it I won't hesitate to change it. It's not like they answer to their names anyway. Smiley: laugh

As for the OP, I've got a lot of work to do in the shop today, which is nice, since it means I can keep coming to work!
