Yuck, meat in a vat?

How about if whole humans are produced in manufacturing labs, but the DNA is altered that the human's brain is underdeveloped and only supports basic life functions - like a 'vegetable'. The rest of the physical traits can be adjusted via DNA selection to produce a cute, sexy girl or guy, sold to the public as a life sex toy. I'm sure the technology will be advanced enough to produce a young/adult human rather than a baby - the Mini-me problem. When you grow tired of her, you can even sell her to Jophiel's meat market.

Oh, you could also make a special order to clone yourself (minus the brain of course), just so you can go fock yourself.

You can sign me up for a sample. Now if you gave the option to possibly send in our own DNA and receive orders of our own vat grown flesh, I would definitely go for that. I'm guessing I probably taste delicious.

This is proof that Jophiel is an alien (leeeezard) lifeform, a kanamit. He is on earth to serve man ...

I would never eat human meat knowingly ..

I also wonder if Jophiel just found out what the secret ingredient to a fast food chain is .....

Most people taste like braised tofu, unless they have really good muscle/fat distributions. I'm not saying you'd taste bad per say, but unless you have an effective non-homogeneous muscle mass/fat content distributor.

If so, you have a quality product on your hands.

OK, If you want to build a quality synthetic meat enterprise, you're going to semi-constantly agitate/vibrate the growth solution. This will encourage the random strengthening of muscle groups. You'll also probably need to have a system that beats the foodstuff in order to tenderize, and artificially marble the growing synthetic meat stuff.

Now, I know this sounds like I'm just leading into a "You're gonna need to use a vibrator, and will need to beat your meat" joke, but this is serious science here.

I'm more concerned about genetic diseases and other infectious things that could be in human meat, even vat grown.

How do I know that one of these consenting humans doesn't have CJD?

A brainless, but living, human body is too human to distance myself enough to use a sex toy. It's also not human enough to have sex with it, as a fellow subject. Kay?

More concerned than about regular meat, that is less rigorously tested?

You need to work on your distancing techniques.

The Uncanny valley doesn't just apply to computer graphics. In fact it predates computer graphics as we know them.

You have no idea how much angel meat could fetch on the open market.

Lots of rich guys would really desire to eat angels.

It'd probably be too salty, and I'm sure the protein content would be so far off the charts it'd be considered a biohazard. I don't like my barbecue to be ****** with.

Given the options of being slaughtered for meat, or being cloned for meat, I'm going to go with the wild assumption that they'd prefer to be cloned. Very risque of me.

If cooked human meat tastes anything like roasted human smells, you can count me out.

Though that might have just been the smell of burnt hair that was overpowering everything.

As far as I'm aware, the meat of your own species, no matter what species you are, tends to make you ill in the end. Livestock managers know (or should know) not to feed chicken to chickens, or cows to cows.
