My mom is a big booster against Question One, outlawing same sex marriage in Maine. So far, she's optimistic--a sentiment that is not misplaced.
I'll just say if Maine votes no, between that and Olympia Snowe voting for the healthbill (despite her party--but a view that is consistent with her platform and constituency opinion), I'll be so darned proud to be from Maine.

My mom and brother both got their absentee ballots so they can vote no on Question One, just in case they can't get to the polls. My sister and brother in law are also voting no. :)

I'm hopeful, but I'd consider this to be a very close thing, likely leaning towards the no side at present. Maybe it'll snow heavily in the 2nd District and Portland will deliver enough votes for a win. :)

Maybe if you, Smasharoo, went around soliciting people for gay sex and collecting the torsos of those that turned you down the outcome would be more likely to be no.

Problem is the bill would require the Department of Health to oversee dispensing it. DoH says it's not real comfortable with the oversight of a federally illegal activity.
