Your comments are so far from offhand. Offhand would be saying, I'm going out to a really fancy dinner and looking forward to it. You always always emphasize the price and how much people are worth. Clearly it's super important to you, and you want to make sure everyone knows it.
It's so tacky.

It is, but the numbers he throws out there to be impressive are so low-rent. It's all just kinda sad.

Was it Varus or Gbaji that was talking about College food prices, again? I forget.

that they could live on $100/month? I think it was gbaji.

Yeah. I think the same principle here applies to that as well.

Do you know what the cost of living difference is between Knoxville and San Francisco?

According to my numbers his dinner would have cost him $276.84.

Except that the price of steak at a non-restaurant venue is only ~5% higher.

It must be all those gays in san fran causing some sort of inflation.

Every time two gays touch the dollar looses 1% of its value.

As for the market correction on gold and the value of the dollar I did pretty well not listening to you idiots 5yrs ago when I started buying it. Plus it's just fun watching you people get so worked up about a couple hundred bucks.

But we were saying to buy back then...

I wonder why that would be the case then and not now.

Anyways, I laughed.

I don't think anyones worked up, but it's clear from you mentioning it that, that is what your intention is, which, in my humble opinion, just shows the general tripe that you're putting out onto these forums.

Is the "Fresh Market" some chain I've never heard of? Because I can totally see you buying caviar at Target.

Smiley: oyvey why? It's weird. You talk as if you want people to think you're high class, but you come across as super low class. High class avoids talking about dollar amounts, because it doesn't matter. The really ironic thing is that people doing this think it's somehow classy. So naive.

I actually do most of my grocery shopping in Nashville, at the grocery store down from where I work. And we work in the more expensive part of Nashville. I can buy two weeks worth of groceries for $150, and still eat really well. This includes utilizing the butcher in the grocery store instead of buying the prepackaged meat and fish.

If someone paid $150 for a steak, veggies, and strawberry short cake in a Nashville-based market, they were grossly overcharged.

Since this thread is now about food, I've found out that I really, really like trout. I've been broiling it with garlic and basil and it's yummy. I had that for dinner last night. It didn't cost me $150, though.

You're basically bragging about the equivalent of having the upscale double-wide, and calling me white trash.

That's rich. Well, richer than you, anyway.

So it's the equivalent of Whole Foods, which is better than I expected, I suppose. I mean, Varus paid probably twice what he should have, but it's better than the alternative: that he actually bought twenty bucks worth of fresh snails at a fresh market of the non-capitalized variety and then gorged himself on enough escargot to feed four or five people.

I can insure your doublewide if you like, so long as it's not older than 20yrs. Of course I would suggest selling it and never buying another one.

heh, you work for State Farm, Varus?
