I dunno. Might be smart to give the right something else to scream about while he pulls together a coalition on health care.

I believe someone said something similar to this on Bill Mar the other night.

Eh.. next thing you know we'll be seeing commercials about how Obama's plan will increase health care costs for everybody by allowing gay couples to exploit the insurance agency. It's a double edged sword.

Obama's plan will increase the cost of care for numerous reasons, this being one of them.

because us **** are riddled with health problems, right?

Say it, varus. I dare you. I still have that rebuttal post saved and I'm more than happy to share it for the fourth time.

I hate to tell you this, Varus, but gay people already have insurance now. Smiley: frown

Good for them. That doesn't change the fact that a homosexual is 50 times more likely to contract aids than a heterosexual.

It does change your assertion that homosexuals will increase healthcare costs.

I should've known that I had to spell it out for you. You're a little slow when it comes to following a conversation, my apologies for not talking to you like you are five years old.

That doesn't prove that gay men have more overall health problems than heterosexual men.

Although if you want to treat HIV as the end all definition of healthy/ill then we could also say that African Americans are also unhealthy, therefore we shouldn't condone their behavior and should not allow them to get married.

Insurance companies should also be able to refuse to insure sky divers and rock climbers.

They're engaging in acts that vastly increase the likelihood that they will hurt themselves and/or die. Smiley: nod

So someone engaging in an act that vastly increases the liklihood that they'll contract a deadly virus doesn't prove anything?

Yeah right.

I could make the same claim about heterosexual sex.

You also ignored the fact that gay men are not the only demographic with a higher HIV rate. Why do you not also make vicious general claims about african americans?

Most insurance carriers will not insure someone who engages in those activities. Don't you remember answering any questions like that when you took out your life policy?

That's not altogether true.

Their health insurance will cover them for their injuries, but the life insurance will not cover deaths from these activities. But since we're in the midst of a healthcare insurance debate and not a life insurance debate, I figured the point was moot.

Then again, I'm giving you too much credit again. My mistake.

Because you can't mention anything about black people without being labeled a racist?

But we all know why the black race is having trouble with this; Welfare. All a black woman has to do in this country to avoid working is get knocked up then kick the father to the curb. Then they get free govn cheese the rest of their life. This leads to the black male having more sex partners than their caucasion counterparts thereby increasing the liklihood that they'll catch this deadly virus.

It's sad what the Democrats have done to the black race in this country.

you are just so adorable.

If you're afraid of getting AIDS, the answer is to "use a ******* condom."

I guess Tennessee's sex ed didn't really work out for you.

If you're afraid of getting AIDS, the answer is to "use a @#%^ing condom."

I would say that the current AIDS situation in the US is directly the result of abstinence only education coupled with a social stigma of discussing sex or anything related to it including birth control and condoms.

-edit-

also the best way to not get AIDS is to actually know you who are sleeping with.

a concept that I'm afraid will be quite foreign to varus.

You know that one line in your health textbook that says "condoms exist?"

Well, there you go.
