I need a hobby. I used to make beaded jewelry. I pulled out the vestiges of my beading supplies this weekend. I can't hardly see the little buggers anymore.

The woods we moved into a couple years ago are a great source of fruits, berries and stuff, that I've felt obligated to forage.

I love wine.

So...I'm thinking I should try wine-making. Actually, my husbands honey-friend has an over abundance of honey atm, so I might start with a batch of mead. Anyways, I'll likely get a wine-making kit to start, just for ease.

Anyone make wine?...any hints tips or warning?

Dont make it using yellow water. Or snow melt, or salt water.

It's very hard to make a homewine that's half way worth a sh*t. I'd suggest starting off with a home kit (similar to home brewing beer) so if you ***** up a batch (and you will, multiple times, before finding what works for you) you're not into a lot of time and effort (or money for that matter) and you can just pitch it.

And small batches allow you to experiment with flavors and aging and bottling.
