My point was that you were necessarily incorrect based on reasonable interpretation. We were never disagree over whether you were right or wrong; we were disagreeing over whether you could even possibly be correct.

If you want to discuss modality you could just ask, instead of trying to troll me into it.

Do you really think I've forgotten the last time we had this exact same discussion?

It doesn't really matter if Hitler believed in and promoted evolution. It has nothing to do with the validity of the theory or the current struggle today. It's just Godwinning.

Sounds suspiciously like something Hitler would have said.

I thought you might recognize that we were discussing it by our discussion of it.

You think that only because of the flawed modality you are employing.

I don't think Catwho is saying Hitler didn't use Darwinism (at all) here. Just comparing ratios. After all, look at his pre-emptive prescriptive "hard" "Darwinism" in his policies about compulsory sterilisation or killing of disabled people.

Catwho is implicitly saying that Hitler used Darwinism to some extent. The use of the word "used" implies that Catwho believes Hitler did not truly believe in either but rather used them to further his own nefarious goals. The word "Nevermind" is obviously, in context, meant to be ironic - or, more precisely, sarcastic. The use of repetition in relation to the word "far" is used to emphasise that Catwho believes the gap to be very large indeed. It is safe to assume that, as a zealot of the defunct Darwinist doctrine, Catwho wants to downplay the role Darwinism played in National Socialist ideology. It is less clear why Catwho would want to play up the role of the church in the **** state. there are two possible explanations, both quite different. Either Catwho sees the church as a paragon of virtue, and believes that the ***** using it for evil shows that even very good things can be perverted, thus questioning the relevance of the ***** use of Darwinism altogether, or they seek to turn defence into offence by attacking an institution they hate. It is also possible that it is a mix of both.

The best way to shut these 2 up, barring admin intervention, is to argue a point they both disagree with and distract them from their current conversation. It's the same tactic parents use to stop a child throwing a hissy fit.

More fun stuff, this time from TIME: we found an older common ancestor than Lucy. Meet Ardi.

Look at the artist's rendition of Ardi. Then look down at the bottom left under the "Related" section at the pic of Abe Lincoln. See the similarities or is that just me?
