It's been something of a sucky week. Kids both have colds, Jack chipped a tooth, weather has been wet so we are cooped up, there's a wasp nest in my back yard, I'm still fighting morning/all-day sickness.

This weekend's events include Mr. Tare taking Mia to see They Might Be Giants, me taking Jack out somewhere special (movie? swimming? kids museum?), killing wasp nest, fixing drippy shower, cleaning car up to sell. Meh, meh, meh.

Whatchoo got?

Oldest turns 3 on Saturday, so BBQ with friends and family. Sunday, house/yard work. This afternoon, I have a company boat cruise to go to, then tonight, prepping for BBQ tomorrow.

I missed out on a Sister Hazel concert tonight :-( Might go see a play that's being put on. Tomorrow UF will crush Tennessee, and I intend to watch the game. Other than that I need a haircut.

Leicester play Newcastle on Saturday, and we have tickets Smiley: grin

Aside from that not a lot on. I may get round to glossing the bannister and if the weather is good on Sunday dragging the BBQ out for one last feast before it goes away for the winter.

YOU sir, are misusing the word BBQ!Smiley: tongue I assume you mean a cook out. This is the proper usage of the term BBQ (as I have learned since moving down south) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ubTQfr_tyY

I'm writing from a hotel between Baltimore and DC. We're headed to the Smithsonian this morning then finishing our final leg of the journey home from MA. Weekend plans include complete vegging as we have had jam packed days nonstop since Thursday last of driving, visiting friends and family, and hitting up our favorite locales in MA. Im looking forward to sleeping in my own bed again.

You know, normally, if the South told me I was doing something wrong, I'd comletely disregard it, however, this involves food. And the South seems to have a knack for making even the most disgusting things, taste great.

I'm flying home tonight. Tomorrow I get to wake up early to drive back out to the airport to get a friend who's flying in.

After that there will be paintball, booze and lulz.

I was supposed to meet up with Chloe, a little girl I had custody of from the time she was 6 months - 4 years of age. She was returned to her family then and I have seen her only once during these last two years but she has come down with Swine Flu so that plan has been botched. Tanya may be going out with people from work this evening so IF that happens I will be home being bored, probably playing EQ2 when Takeo sleeps. If not, then Tanya will be here early evening. My mother is selling all my baby stuff that Takeo no longer uses this afternoon so I hope to come up with a few bucks here and there.

Saturday I've been told to attend a first birthday party for my step-nephew. I didn't get an invitation but she phoned me and told me to meet them in Peotone. It's at her cousin's house, which I was kicked out of when I was 11 years old because I was watching a girl taking a shower and I was caught. I do NOT want to go. I repeat.. I do NOT want to go. How embarrassing. I'm sure they don't want to see me anyway. I have no idea how I'm going to get around not going since my dad will be there and reminded me of the plans yesterday on the phone.

Sunday I haven't any plans yet.

What are you having? Do you know? I am assuming you have a little girl in the belly. Only basing that on morning sickness since I had a boy and I didn't experience it at all.

Did you seriously just imply that expectant mothers who have morning sickness are going to have a girl?

Apparently today I'm locked inside for the next 24 hours at least. I was sitting at Walgreens in the parkinglot looking at the pictures that I had just gotten developed while a man knocked on my window. I saw that he was a Government Official so I was a little concerned. He said that a dude just robbed the bank across the street and that I need to lock my doors if I'm sitting in the car and he is going around to all businesses to tell them to keep the doors locked. There are a ton of helicopters swarming the skies and all schools are on lockdown until further notice. If I didn't have Takeo with me, I would be out searching for him... Course to kill him and steal the money for the reward money.

I did. I didn't say it was confirmed but the more women I know with morning sickness have had girls. I don't see a problem with guessing.. It's fun.

There's some evidence to back that up, apparently.

Quote:
Are some pregnant women more likely than others to feel nauseated?

You're more likely to have nausea or vomiting during your pregnancy if any of the following apply:

• You're pregnant with twins or higher multiples. This may be from the higher levels of hCG, estrogen, or other hormones in your system. You're also more likely to have a more severe case than average. On the other hand, it's not a definite thing — some women carrying twins have little or no nausea.

• You had nausea and vomiting in a previous pregnancy.

• You have a history of nausea or vomiting as a side effect of taking birth control pills. This is probably related to your body's response to estrogen.

• You have a history of motion sickness.

• You have a genetic predisposition to nausea during pregnancy. If your mother or sisters had severe morning sickness, there's a higher chance you will, too.

• You have a history of migraine headaches.

• You're carrying a girl. One study found that women with severe nausea and vomiting were 50 percent more likely to be carrying a girl.

Just one study, and no cite. Still, interesting.

tomorrow, I shall sacrifice a large chunk of cow to the barbique gods if the weather holds up

Good news, they caught him.

I'm assuming we're speaking of the same guy unless there's a rash of bank robberies in the area today.

Don't know yet, but I have had a girl and a boy and I had no morning sickness with either. This is the first pregnancy that I have experienced the joys of m/s. It can only me one thing:

Throwing a big party for my brother who leaves for the Peace Corps and Ukraine early next week.

He applied this May and is shipping off just 5 months later. Not enough time for his mother to accept that he'll only be gone for 27 months but enough time for her to find out that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in that neck of the woods.

Tomorrow is the California Coastal Cleanup Day so the wife and I are going to be good citizens and go pick up garbage off of the beach.

Probably just going to chill on Sunday.
