If the boots are made of leather, lightly wet a block of soap, and rub the soap on the inside of the shoe in any problem areas (that give you blisters, etc). Do that just prior to wearing them. The soap slightly stretches the leather, and as it dries it moulds around your foot/ankle/heel. Works beautifully for leather shoes.
Coincidentally, I'm going to some Pirate themed burlesque show with the GF this Saturday night.

The shot, they do look goofy there. I've not touched them besides to keep the strays from coming back in forever. What is up with the right one? It looks like its wandering off over there. Weird.
