This has to be varus' most lame argument to date.
I'm pretty sure you've just forgotten some his old gems out of self defence.

And Texas Department of Corrections has become quite skilled at their hobby. However, they still can't figure out how to keep the inmates from threatening politicians while on death row. (can't find the article as of right now on that)

Rehabilitation, which allows a criminal a chance to rejoin society as a productive person, also gives someone an opportunity to be saved and avoid hell entirely.
You'd think WAY more Christians would advocate it in that case.
