It's funny because I remember seeing plenty of angry anti-healthcare protesters at town hall meetings doing just that.

LMAO that's what happened

Then what is your fucking problem? Clearly those nasty anti-healthcare protesters were just "instigating a fight" with all their shouting. And now they complain?

Quivering pussies.

I'd personally probably stand there and disagree, and as soon as they took a swing as me, I'd get to a police officer, arrest them, and sue their *** for everything they own. Stay smart, folks. If possible, I'd try to have someone record the incident; not too tough when you have a lot of people and emotions together; someone always wants to make news!

Some schools are now requesting signed permission slips before allowing kids to view Obama's 'talk'.

It's hard for me to believe that this paranoid hype, propagated by the republican party, will be keeping kids away from the opportunity to hear their president speak - to them. Funny how patriotism flies out the window at will. You'd think our countries leader were a fricken football team.

I think school kids were even encouraged to listen to Tricky Dick.

So sad.........

Permission slips are usually required when there's some danger, or perceived danger - field trips and the like.

That's just pitiful, to be so threatened by the President telling your kids to stay in school and work hard and create their own future.

This dangerous situation could have happened in schools across the country. Hence the need for permission slips.

I'm guessing they won't.
Politics are politics. Typically the slimy behaviors are found criss-crossing the aisles.

This is really stinking low though. Democrats have not yet gotten so terribly pathetic.

The Congressional action took place after Bush Sr.'s speech (sorry, no screaming that the kids can't see it or the Obamonster will get'em) and was related to the cost of the event. And, seeing as how the GAO decided that there was no problem with the cost, I don't know what you'd want them to hold a hearing about.

I think the Congressional response to Bush Sr.'s speech was stupid as well but at least they weren't screaming and hooting that Bush Sr was out to brainwash the young'uns.

Link to said hearing? I can't find information on it?

Also wondering how aghast the right was back in 1991 when Bush addressed the nation's children... coincidentally (read: not a coincidence at all) the day before he announced his reelection campaign.

That's no excuse for talking back to your teacher, or cutting class, or dropping out of school. That's no excuse for not trying.

Oh, yeah. Propaganda of the most insidious type.

Actually I know you were trying to make a joke but your not far off. Not about Obama's speech but about our public school systems in this country.

Liberals do control the public education system in this country Which explains why it's in such poor shape and how someone like Obama who is dangerously unqualified got elected to the highest office in the land.

And the fact that Liberals have had control over the public school system in this country for so long is the reason they fight school choice plans with everything they have.

Liberals know that if parents had a choice that most of them would take their children and run as fast and as far as they could from their child's school in a heartbeat and if liberals loose the ability to turn out new little pensive's and annabelle's on a yearly basis then Liberalism is finished.

Obama telling kids to stay in school is not the problem, the problem is in our public school system 2+2= whatever the hell you want it to.
