Ben & Jerry's renames their popular flavor "Hubby Hubby" to celebrate marriage equality.

It's not even so much the marriage equality angle that thrills me--though it's definitely something worth supporting--as it is the fact that Ben & Jerry's isn't afraid of promoting controversial causes for fear of losing business.

My parents used to have a couple Mormon missionaries over for dinner every week--this was their favorite dessert. Not anymore, I guess? Smiley: lol

Mormon missionaries for dessert? Ugh. I would have them for the appetizer.

I don't get it. "Chubby Hubby" was heterosexual? Can gay men not marry fat gay men? DISCRIMINATION!!

*Edit: This reminds me of a girl I fancied back in college, who nicknamed me her chubby hubby. Which I didn't care for, obviously, but I guess it was meant harmlessly. I wonder if it would have been a different nickname had we met a few years later? One thing's for sure; she's a lot chubbier than me now Smiley: lol

Meh, Ben and Jerry's is overpriced. For grocery store ice cream I think Haagen-Dazs is far better.

I actually prefer Haagen Dazs flavors. Ben & Jerry's flavors are just too...busy for me. Too much stuff in them. I like my ice cream a bit more basic (except for the occasional foray into moose tracks.)

However, I really do admire a company with the balls to take a stand on controversial matters, even at the risk of driving away some of their business.

It's Ben & Jerry! How did anyone not see this coming? It'd be like if Siegfried & Roy started poking each other with sticks instead of their tigers for their act.
