Eighteen months ago today, Thom reached out and grabbed my finger for the first time.

Today, he's become this.

Quite amazing. A year and a half.

Can't talk yet, though.

He's so goddam beautiful it makes me want to cry.

it's like when Christian Bale listens to Beethoven's 9th for the first time in Equilibrium. Except that I'm with Thom every day.

Heh, we have the same bouncer. He put some miles on that thing.

It's a fun age. Even though my kids a terror and his favorite word is 'MINE!' its still a good time at 26mo.

Awww, happy half-birthday little guy!

Don't worry about the talking thing, Deb. At 18 months Tristan was still only speaking a few words, now 8 10 months later (holy shit time flies!) he's speaking whole sentences and using pronouns correctly, even to the point of correcting himself when he catches himself using one incorrectly (a big deal for a kid who for months referred to himself as "you".)

So far as I can tell, he's 100% guy, too. The other day I heard something when he was in the next room and I wasn't sure what it was (sounded like furniture being pushed around, honestly) and I called out, "What was that, bub?" and he responded, "That was just me farting."

That's a good lookin' kid. He'll probably be talking in full sentences before the year is out.

rather than make a new thread, I figured this would be an appropriate one to post in. SUki is officially 1 year old today. We had her party yesterday at Build a Bear Workshop and then brought the party to the house where they dined on ice cream cake, veggies, fruit, cheese and lemonade. Then the children played for a couple hours :) (Build a bear did such a fantastic job. They have all these cute ceremonies for the birthday party members adopting their bears and playing games)

That I find myself watching others' children grow up makes me consider, if only for a moment, whether I've been here too long.

Gratz on Suki. I can't wait until mine turns 1. Or at least walking on his own. That's a fun stage but lots more work!

So true. My 20 month old won't stop yelling Daddy, No way, outside, or cheeseies. She's always yelling at least one of those.
